UK: Five killed, including two children, in deadly Cumbria car crash

Five people, including two children, died in a car crash on the M6 northbound in Cumbria County, North West England, on Wednesday (Oct 16). A Toyota ferrying a man, woman, and two children from Glasgow collided with a Skoda.
The incident took place on the northbound carriageway on Tuesday afternoon, Cumbria constabulary said.
Officers were called to the crash site at 4:04 pm.
A man, woman, and two children from Glasgow were travelling in a Toyota and all of them died along with the driver of theSkoda, who was from Cambridgeshire, Cumbria Police said.
A third child, who was in the Toyota, suffered major injuries. The child was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle by air ambulance.

Police said the motorway was closed from junction 36 to 39 and reopened in the early hours of Tuesday.
Cumbria Police said on Tuesday, "Police are currently responding to a serious collision on the M6. The M6 Northbound is closed from J36 to J39."
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said it sent four fire engines from Penrith, Kendal, and Shap and remained on the scene of the crash for several hours.
A force spokesperson said, "The families of those involved are being supported by specially trained officers."
Great North Air Ambulance, the north-west Ambulance Service, and Cumbria fire and Rescue Service were also present at the crash site. Moreover, volunteer doctors who are part of the group Beep Doctors were also there.
The police have appealed for anyone with relevant information to contact them online for further help.
The force's statement read, "Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision on the M6 Northbound past Tebay Services. Officers were called to the incident at 4:04 pm yesterday (Oct 15).
