Shaimaa Ahmed, also known as Shyma, was reportedly jailed for two years
Shaimaa Ahmed -- also known as Shyma -- a 25-year-old Egyptian singer was recently arrested for posting a "provocating" video online.
On Tuesday, an Egyptian court found Shaimaa guilty of publishing an indecent music video online and reportedly sentenced her to two years in jail.
Shaimaa is seen eating a banana in the video, and is seen in her underwear in portions of the video.
The video has sparked an outcry in Egypt.
The video's director was reportedly also sentenced in absentia to two years in jail.
Shaimaa had apologised earlier saying she did not know the video would create such an outcry.
