Former US president Donald Trump on Friday (Aug 2) agreed to debate Vice President Kamala Harris in an event moderated by Fox News on September 4. It will be the first instance when Trump squares off against his new presidential rival after Joe Biden dropped his re-election bid last month,
Trump took to his official handle on Truth Social to inform about the presidential debate where he took a dig at Biden.
"I have agreed with FoxNews to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th. The Debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant," said Trump.
The debate will be held in Pennsylvania, in front of a live audience, informed Trump who also explained why it would not be broadcast on ABC News.
"I am in litigation against ABC Network and George Slopadopoulos, thereby creating a conflict of interest. The FoxNews Debate will be held in the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, at a site in an area to be determined," said Trump.
"The Moderators of the Debate will be Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, and the Rules will be similar to the Rules of my Debate with Sleepy Joe, who has been treated horribly by his Party – BUT WITH A FULL ARENA AUDIENCE!"

Harris dares Trump
Earlier this week, Harris, the Democrat presidential nominee dared Trump to debate her before the November election.
Speaking during a campaign rally in Atlanta, Harris slammed her Republican rival and said, "He won't debate, but he and his running mate sure seem to have a lot to say about me."
"Well, Donald, I do hope you'll reconsider to meet me on the debate stage because, as the saying goes, if you got something to say, say it to my face," she added.
Notably, prior to announcing his participation in the debate, Trump in an interview said he had mixed feelings about debating Harris, adding thathe wanted to but could also "make a case for not doing it".
Trump had gone against Biden in the first presidential debate in June which ultimately set the chain of events leading to the Democrat leader dropping his re-election bid.
Biden looked lost during the debate and mumbled his way through certain segments --giving the impression that his cognitive abilities were on a decline. Afterwards, several big Democrat leaders and donors came out openly and demanded that the president quit the election race and hand the baton to someone else.
