Philippine banks, E-wallets ditch SMS and E-mail OTPs
The landscape of digital banking in the Philippines has officially shifted. Starting June 25, 2026, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has mandated that major banks and e-wallet operators move away from traditional SMS- and email-based one-time passwords (OTPs) for high-risk financial transactions.
