The Extreme H racing series debuted in Saudi Arabia this month, the first-ever hydrogen-powered racing championship on the planet. Each team competes with the Pioneer 25 SUV – an all-terrain race car with 536 horsepower, a zero to 100 kilometres an hour time of 4.3 seconds, a top speed of 205 kilometres an hour, that produces zero emissions. Rather, only water vapour, heat, and electricity. But how does it work? And what does it mean for the future of hydrogen mobility? Here’s a look.
