Seren Price climbed the 13,000-foot-high mountain to raise funds for the hospital that saved her life when she was a baby, her father Glyn said. The duo now plan to climb Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Western Europe to raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Seren and her father flew to Morocco in mid-August and reached a village at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Along with their guide, they walked eight hours to Mount Toubkal base camp and spent their night there before embarking on their challenging journey.

"The heat was the biggest challenge... but once we got to the top it was brilliant. There were about 20 people there who had followed her story on social media, and they were giving her a big round of applause," Glyn said.

Seren humorously said she had been training for "a week" before laughing and adding, "I think it was a little more than a week."

Glyn described they had been training for nearly a year and hiked up Pen y Fan in Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, also called the Brecon Beacons, to get acclimatised to the tough route to Mount Toubkal.

"We were able to replicate some of the tracks. Obviously, the weather wasn't the same, but the terrain was," he said.

According to her father, Seren was born prematurely and had a haemangioma on her neck which required a surgery. Now she is raising money for the hospital that saved her life.

"When I was a baby, I had a big lump on my neck and they helped me," Seren said.

Seren made history by becoming the youngest person to finish the UK's Three Peaks challenge in under 48 hours in 2022.

Their next planned journey to Mont Blanc will require some winter training, including in Scotland. Seren expressed her excitement for her next milestone and also "seeing the snow".

Glyn, who is an avid mountaineer and a teacher, stated that passion can't be forced  on children adding that his boy isn't interested in climbing the mountains, while Seren loves it.

When asked about what she likes most about her mountaineering adventures, Seren replied, "I like spending time with my dad - and seeing the nice things when I'm at the top of the mountain."
