Zhong Yang entered politics at the age of 22 by (obviously) joining the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). She then served in several high-profile positions in the National People’s Congress (NPC).

Chinese media reported that the ex-governor has also been fined worth onemillion Yuan. Local police she was punished for making "sexual relations with 58 subordinates and accepting nearly 60 million yuan in bribes."

The woman, known for her good looks, is said to have never married and given birth to children.

She would always cite excuses like “working overtime” and “business trips” to get time to spend with her male lovers and eventually climb up the ladder of wealth and power.

Zhong was once interviewed by a news outlet called NetEase News, during which she said that her subordinates loved her because of the advantages she offered while others feared her authority.

"Zhang was frequently seen in private nightclubs, reportedly carrying condoms in her handbag," Chinese media reported.

A report by Strait Times revealed that using her position of power, she ensured that the companies she preferred received lucrative government contracts under the pretext of government investments.

However, a documentary was produced by Guizhou Radio and Television in January this year, in which she expressed regret for her actions.

“I can’t face my former colleagues, family members, or the leaders who have cared for and nurtured me,” she said. “I am truly ashamed and embarrassed.”
