Recently, England's Matt Walls suffered a horrific crash and got stitches on his forehead, scrapes, and bruises but escaped major injuries during the men's 15km scratch cycling race at the Lee Valley VeloPark in London. Now, India's cyclist Meenakshi was at the receiving end of an awful crash during the women’s 10km scratch race, at the same venue, in Birmingham 2022. The Indian athlete fell from her bike before sliding down the banking on the bend.
Before the commencement of the much-awaited Commonwealth Games, in Birmingham, every athlete is pushing himself, or herself, in final training sessions to return with a medal. Despite thousands of requests, they are always allowed late for my training. This hampers my training and puts me through a lot of hardships and mental harassment," she asserted.

India's current head coach Rahul Dravid remains a big name in world cricket. The legendary cricketer had a highly successful career as one of India's main batters during his playing days, from 1996-2021. Dravid amassed 13,288 Test and 10,889 ODI runs and is now being looked upon as a coach who can change India's fortunes and help them end their ICC-title drought since 2013.

During Dravid's playing days, he was known to be a stylish batter who strived hard for his runs in the middle. The former Indian captain could also play the aggressor's role and, hence, was a versatile batter. His on-field demeanour was that of a calm and composed player, who didn't lose his cool very often on the 22-yard cricket strip. Nonetheless, whenever Dravid got angry, it made heads turn. During IPL 2013's Qualifier 2 match, between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the iconic Eden Gardens, Kolkata, Dravid gave an earful to Mitchell Johnson.

Dravid had hit Johnson for a four, as RR opted to bat first, when the Aussie speedster said something to 'The Wall'. While the Indian star batter hit him for another four, on the very next delivery, Dravid responded to Johnson and their verbal spat caught everyone's attention. Here's the throwback video:

While Dravid started the innings on fire, he departed for a 37-ball 43. Stuart Binny's quickfire 17-ball 27 propelled the one-time winners to a decent score, i.e. 165 for 6. However, it wasn't enough as Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai chased down the target on the penultimate ball with four wickets in hand. Dwayne Smith top-scored for MI, with a 44-ball 62, but Harbhajan Singh ended as the Player-of-the-Match for his 3 for 23.

Eventually, Johnson-starrer MI went onto win the IPL 2013 edition, beating MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 23 runs in the final, played at the same venue.

Crab with 'human-like teeth': The intriguing but scary image is going viral

India faced England in the ODI series opener at the Kennington Oval, London on Tuesday (July 12). After clinching the three T20Is, 2-1, Rohit Sharma-led India carried on with the momentum and hammered Jos Buttler & Co. by ten wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the process.

Opting to bowl first, everything clicked for India as they quickly reduced England to 26 for 5 before bundling them out for a paltry 110 in 25.2 overs, with Jasprit Bumrah returning with a fine 6 for 19. In reply, openers Rohit (56-ball 76*) and Shikhar Dhawan (31 not out) remained unbeaten as their unbroken 114-run stand completed the formalities for the visitors, in 18.4 overs.

During the run-chase, Rohit looked in command and was in full flow from the word go. During his unbeaten knock at The Oval, one of the Indian captain's six hit a young spectator in the crowd, resulting in the proceedings coming to a halt briefly. Here's the video of the incident which left Rohit and the other players worried before medical attention was provided to the youngster:

Lionel Messi is undoubtedly one of the greatest footballers of all time. At present, he remains the captain of Argentina as he will once again prepare to lead the national side in the forthcoming 2022 Qatar World Cup, which might be his last appearance in the showpiece event.

In 2021, Messi shifted base after leaving Barcelona and joined Paris Saint Germain (PSG) as the Argentine geared up to compete in Ligue 1, the top division of French football. While his debut season wasn't the best for him, by his own goal-scoring standards, Messi continued to make strides and showed why he is not just a goal-scorer, but a little more than that. The legendary footballer has, time and again, shown the world sport the importance of reading the game and being ahead of it, stressed on presence of mind by his style of play and wily moves on the ground (courtesy of his vision and foresight). Thus, he has created enough moments on the field to make things happen so that his teammates can make the most of it and score by virtue of his assists.

A Twitter user recently shared a video, which has gone viral in no time, that shows Messi's class as a playmaker and emphasised why the legend should be studied in schools for his exemplary football IQ.

We need to study messi in schools 🐐 pic.twitter.com/5aQxi5cu9o — Cfc_Kounde (@Blue_Nada10) June 12, 2022 × The comments section has been filled with more support for Messi's skills being deserved to be studied in schools. They said the Lion has a strong vision at night for its preys so does Leonel Messi has a strong vision for both his opponents and teammates. Look at how he keep spotting them to allow the ball get to his teammate thereby displacing the opponents. — Marc-Phill 🇨🇲 🇨🇾 🇨🇦 (@NamseMarcel) June 13, 2022 × Someone said a good player knows where he is on the pitch while a great player knows where others are on the pitch. — Étu Osi (@tawaladeyemi) June 13, 2022 × Simply you can’t, because Messi has no rules and you can’t expect his next move.
In a dramatic shootout, Australia beat Peru to clinch their place in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, which is set to be held later this year. Playing Peru at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Doha, on June 13, Australia held their nerves in what was a thrilling contest and grabbed their berth for the showpiece event with a 5-4 win in the penalty shootout after the regular time resulted in a 0-0 scoreline.

Thus, both sides were to be tested in the shootouts. While the penalties always put pressure on players but this time around, the crucial slot at Qatar for the finals was also to be determined by virtue of it. Australia's substitute goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne was the star as he was roped in just minutes before the end of play and finished with two stunning saves to guide his side to the World Cup for the fifth successive time.

Anything can be published on social media. It is important to not blindly follow it and make a learned judgement. This holds true for an incident recently where an influencer on TikTok suggested that using the Type-2 diabetes medication, Ozempic (semaglutide), can help in weight loss. When the video of the influencer went viral, the citizens in Australia began buying the drug in bulk, media reports said. It led to a shortage of the medicine. The shortage with many medical bodies has been confirmed by the Therapeutic Goods Administration in a statement.

“The increased demand is due to extensive prescribing for obesity management, for which Ozempic is not indicated. The shortage is significantly affecting people using Ozempic for its approved use for type 2 diabetes,” the statement read as quoted in a report published by The Guardian.

A mother would do anything to save her child if she even senses it to be in slightest of dangers. The kid falling into a manhole is surely a serious situation for the mom to leap to her baby's rescue. And all of us can rest assured that a mother would NEVER even bat an eyelid before leaping for her child's rescue.

A video showing a courageous British mother saving her son has many remarking on this fact.

Amy Blyth was walking her son, a toddler, through what seemed like a park when he ran a few steps away from his mother probably overjoyed with the greenery around.

The toddler's merriment didn't last long as he ran over a manhole, apparently closed. The lid of the manhole flipped taking Theo (her son) inside the drain.

Without a second's thought, Amy ripped open the lid with all her strength and leaped inside the drain which appears quite deep.

Fortunately, she can be seen emerging with her son.

Amy has described the ordeal on Facebook and Instagram describing the incident as 'scariest, most traumatising'.

"I didn’t know what I was going to expect when I managed to get it off, I seriously thought my baby boy was dead but instead he was standing absolutely screaming my name for help ; this noise is absolute torture and I’ll never forget how it sounded," she adds.

Black holes are an enigma. We can only theorise what happens inside this mysterious celestial structure but we don't know for sure as no one, or nothing from our planet has entered black hole and returned to tell the tale. Gravitational pull of black hole is so unimaginably powerful that even light, the fastest entity in the universe, cannot escape the grip of a black hole.

NASA and other space agencies across that world continuously study this cosmic wonder and post beautiful photos and videos for us to marvel at.

A video posted by NASA has gone crazy viral.

It's a visualisation of a black hole.

“This visualization simulates the appearance of a black hole as seen on its edge, where inbound matter has collected into a thin, hot structure called an accretion disk. The black hole’s extreme gravity alters the paths of light coming from different parts of the disk, making rings of matter visible above and below. At the center lies the black hole's shadow, an area roughly twice the size of the event horizon — its point of no return,” says NASA. The video has been posted on Instagram.

A new game called 'Heardle' seems to be taking netizens by storm. It seems to be inspired by Wordle's winning formula.

Heardle’s creators describe it as: "Like Wordle but for music."

This new game borrows a lot from Wordle, such as players only get six guesses and the puzzle refreshes every 24 hours.

"A respectful homage to Wordle, with a musical twist," says the game's description.

"Each Heardle is randomly plucked from a list of the most-streamed songs in the past decade. Much love (and all the relevant copyright) to all the artists featured," it added.

It uses Tailwind, Noto Serif Display, Soundcloud, Svelte, Noto Sans, IconSVG, autocomplete.js, and Vercel.
