The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully test-fired its CE-20 Cryogenic engine, as part of the preparation for the next launch of its heaviest rocket. This latest test comes a week after the Indian Space agency placed 36 satellites of the UK-based 'OneWeb', into Low Earth Orbit, using its heaviest rocket LVM3. The next launch to be carried out using the LVM3 will be performed sometime around January or February 2023, Chairman, ISRO, Dr.S. Somanath told WION.

According to ISRO, "The flight acceptance hot test of a CE-20 engine is successfully carried out for a duration of 25 s in the High-Altitude Test facility of ISRO Propulsion Complex at Mahendragiri". It is noticeable that the CE-20 engine has flown on all five flights of the LVM3 rocket and has delivered success in every single launch. Now, the question arises why is a further engine test required?

The LVM3 rocket is a three-stage heavy-lift launch vehicle developed by ISRO. The vehicle has two solid strap-on boosters (burns solid fuel), a core-stage liquid booster (burns a combination of liquid fuels) and a cryogenic upper stage (burns liquid hydrogen with liquid oxygen). LVM3 is designed to carry a 4-ton class of satellites into Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) or about 10 tons to Low Earth Orbit (LEO), which is about twice the capability of its predecessor, the GSLV Mk II or GSLV rocket.

The LVM3 is powered by three stages - solid, liquid and cryogenic. Solid-fuel boosters are the most reliable and the technology that ISRO has been using for the longest time. Hence, the need for testing is not as high, when compared to liquid-fuel and cryogenic engines which are far more complicated machines than solid-fuel ones. Also, the CE-20 Cryogenic engine being less than a decade old, means there are more reasons for ISRO to test-fire it.

This also brings forth another fact - Solid-fuel rockets are only meant to be fired once and after a complete burn, they have to be discarded (comparable to a candle). So, the engine being tested is discarded after the test and a new one will have to be flown on the actual rocket. While some parts can be recovered, refurbished and re-used, it isn't commercially viable in most cases, so, a new solid booster is built. However, in the case of liquid-fuel or cryogenic engines, it is possible to refurbish and reuse the engine multiple times. This means, the same engine which is tested on earth at a test facility, can be checked, re-fuelled and flown. It is the same principle that is being used to execute missions by re-usable rockets, where the rocket engines fly to space, land back on earth and are refurbished and re-used for further launches.

ISRO said, "The major objectives of the flight acceptance test were to confirm the integrity of the hardware, assessment of subsystems' performance and tune the engine for meeting the mission requirements parameters for engine tuning for flight operation. Analysis of test data confirmed the satisfactory performance of the engine systems. This engine will be assembled to the C25 flight stage being integrated for the LVM3 M3 vehicle".

Given the successful test, ISRO can now work on performing further refurbishment on the engine and integrating it into the Cryogenic stage, which can eventually be assembled onto the rocket. It must also be noted that this test is crucial.

Also watch: India: ISRO Rocket Launch | 36 satellites on board lifts off ISRO said, "The major objectives of the flight acceptance test were to confirm the integrity of the hardware, assessment of subsystems' performance and tune the engine for meeting the mission requirements parameters for engine tuning for flight operation. WATCH WION LIVE HERE

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, on Friday, claimed that she predicted the doom of ex-Twitter heads long ago which came true.

Taking to Instagram, the `Dhaakad` actor shared a post on her stories which she captioned, "Trending since morning I had predicted the doom of ex twitter heads long ago...another prediction came true."

Post that, the actor shared a long note and claimed that she has the power to predict things that will happen in the distant future and wrote, " I always predict things that are yet to happen in distant future...some call my foresight X rays, some call them my curses and some call them witchcraft...For how long are we going to dismiss a woman`s genius like this..it`s not easy to predict future it takes remarkable recognition and interpretation of human instincts also great observational skills...above all it takes dissolution of one`s own likes and dislikes for crystal clear objectivity to study the subject one wants to predict about."

Ever since Elon Musk`s controversial takeover of Twitter, Kangana has been hoping that she will soon regain her suspended Twitter account.

In May 2021, Kangana`s Twitter account was `permanently suspended for repeated violation of Twitter rules. The suspension came after the actress had made an incendiary post, claiming that the victory of the Mamata Banerjee-led All India Trinamool Congress in the Assembly election of West Bengal had led to violence.

On Thursday, Musk became Twitter Inc`s new owner and reportedly fired top executives including CEO Parag Agrawal, Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal and legal affairs and policy chief Vijaya Gadde. In July, in a surprising turn of events, Elon Musk who had long been showing his interest to buy Twitter terminated the deal. The Tesla CEO did so by alleging that Twitter violated their mutual purchase agreement by misrepresenting the number of spam and fake bot accounts on its platform. After Musk put out the deal termination announcement, the market saw a sharp decline. Later, Twitter sued Musk accusing him of using bots as a pretext to exit a deal.

Meanwhile, on the film front, Kangana will be next seen in `Tejas` and in the period drama film `Emergency` which also marks her first solo directorial film.

'Terrifier 3' is in the making! Following the massive success of the franchise's second film, the producers have teased that a new slasher horror film is in the works.

Director Damien Leone, who is currently basking in the success of his brutal clown film, has spilt some beans about the possible sequels. During his exclusive interview with Variety, when asked about the future of the film, Leone revealed that not just one, but he's working on two slasher films.

"I had a Part 3 in mind when writing Part 2. There are so many questions brought up in Part 2 that are not answered, and that was part of the design because I know I’m going into a Part 3, "Damien said.

Furthermore, Leone said that part 3 is pretty long, so he might split it and release the film in two parts.

"I pretty much have the entire treatment ready for Part 3, but it’s getting so big that it could potentially split into a Part 4 because I wouldn’t want to make another 2 hour 20 minute movie. So we’ll see,'' via Variety.

'Terrifier 2' is a sequel to the 2016 horror film 'Terrifier' and stars actors Jenna Kanell, Samantha Scaffidi, and David Howard Thornton in prominent roles.

"My fear is that eventually the well is going to run dry, we’re going to wind up jumping the shark, there will be nothing left to say with this character. It happens with a lot of franchises that I’m still a huge fan of. I’ve watched all these Part 10s and Part 13s, but sometimes that could really ruin the entire franchise. For them to peter out, not have this satisfying arc, or if the movie goes in another direction, that could be devastating to your overall franchise. I want to try and avoid that, " he said further.

The horror film centred on an evil clown named Art, was released in theatres across the United States in October, and quickly became the buzz of the entire world as reports of individuals fainting and vomiting after watching the gruesome scenes began to circulate.

The film, made on a budget of less than $250,000 as per Variety, has earned a whopping $5 million at the box office.

Further, the veteran actor added: ''I do know I’ll do special shows here and there, now and then. Maybe do a long weekend of shows, or just a few shows at a festival. A few hours after the shocking news spread, the former couple themselves confirmed the news. Taking to their respective Instagram handles, Tom and Gisele revealed that their divorce has been finalised.

Calling it ''painful and difficult,'' Brady wrote in the long statement, "In recent days, my wife and I finalised our divorce from one another after 13 years of marriage. We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the centre of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to ensure they always receive the love and attention they deserve. We arrived at this decision to end our marriage after much consideration. Doing so is, of course, painful and difficult, as it is for many people who go through the same thing every day around the world. However, we wish only the best for each other as we pursue whatever new chapters in our lives that are yet to be written. And we kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate what is to come in the days and weeks ahead. Thank you. "

Gisele also penned a long note on her separation. "With much gratitude for our time together, Tom and I have amicably finalised our divorce. My priority has always been and will continue to be our children, whom I love with all my heart. We will continue co-parenting to give them the love, care, and attention they greatly deserve. The decision to end a marriage is never easy, but we have grown apart and while it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always. I kindly ask that our privacy be respected during this sensitive time. Thank you. "Gisele."
Not just Kanye West, these celebrities also got dumped by brands for their harsh words and actions

Despite all of the good content available on OTT platforms, one must admit that it has also become a bit of a dumping ground. A part of the audience has grown up watching JK Rowling's 'Harry Potter series' and similar fantasy fiction that came along with it- so the new Netflix film 'The School for Good and Evil' looks like a mix of all the films and series of the same genre that we have seen in the past

Adapted from the 2013 novel of the same name by Soman Chainani, the film takes you into the duplicate world of many fantasy series, with one evil and one devil, a larger-than-life palace, weird gatekeepers, and lots and lots of CGI and VFX work.

What is the story?

The film revolves around the stories of two best friends—Sophia (Sophia Anne Caruso), who is beautiful and dreams of living the life of a princess; and Agatha (Sofia Wylie), who is also beautiful, but due to her extra-giant hair, tomboyish appearance, and family history, she has often been called a witch. Both of them are tired of bullying and the dull life in their village Gavaldon.

One day, Sophie and Agatha come to know about the 'School for Good and Evil', and Sophie, who has always dreamed of eloping from her boring life, quickly wishes to go to the school, which she thinks will be a turning point in her life. Agatha, meanwhile, is just happy to survive in the village with her mommy and her BFF Sophie.

Everything changes when Sophie moves to the magical school along with Agatha- who had tried to save her best friend from getting into the school- a place that trains future angels and devils. Once inside, Sophie is assigned to the school of devils, whereas Agatha is airdropped in the school of good. How Agatha successfully takes her best friend back home makes up the rest of the story.

A typical old-school story

When it comes to magical and mythical realms, there is so much to explore, but what drags this two-hour female-centric film down are all the old-school elements that make the tale too apparent.

Helmed by 'Bridesmaids ' fame Paul Feig, the film is visually appealing but the story gets weak at several points. The film is filled with unnecessary elements, such as Sophie and Tedros' quest to prove their real love and Rafal, the film's main antagonist who has nothing villainous about him. Many frames and moments in the film appear to be inspired by previous Disney and fantasy films, such as when Sophie walks down the corridor with a devil makeover.

Makers try to differentiate this fantasy drama by incorporating new aspects, however, this does not improve the film.

What works?

Despite a predictable script, the good thing about the film is that it will keep you hooked, and all credit goes to the cast and a lot of VFX-enabled wizardry world that makes the film look attractive.
Sophie played by Sophia Anne Caruso and Agatha played by Sofia Wylie are excellent in their performances. Kerry Washington and Charlize Theron, as the deans of two opposite sides, have done a decent job.

There is nothing new to expect from this film. The two-hour-long film has a lot of VFX and a predictable plot. Only watch the film if you enjoy fantasy and mystical dramas.

After Balenciaga, the fashion magazine Vogue announced that they will no longer work with American rapper Kanye West following his controversial anti-Semitic comments.

A Vogue spokesperson has exclusively revealed to Page Six that the magazine and its editor-in-chief Anna Wintour have no intention of working with the rapper in the future.

Anna and Kanye had always shared a great bond. Their decade-long relationship began when Wintour invited the 'Gold Digger' rapper to her annual Met Gala in 2009. After that, she featured Kanye and his ex-wife on the magazine cover in 2014 right after their wedding.

However, now, after West's shocking comments against the Jewish community, Wintour has decided to cut all ties with the rapper. And, most recently, Wintour has also promoted the sunglasses line of West's Yeezy brand.

"Anna has had enough," an insider told Page Six, adding, "She has made it very clear inside Vogue that Kanye is no longer part of the inner circle."

However, it is still unclear how Wintour will cut him out—whether she will not be inviting him to her star-studded Met Gala event, or whether she will not promote his fashion exhibits through Vogue magazine.

Kanye has been in the news for a while now for his controversies-first for wearing a White Lives Matter t-shirt at Paris Fashion Week, then for his public feud with Vogue editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson. and most recently for his anti-Semitic tweets.
