Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel, “Shreyas Iyer could be a potential captain of KKR or RCB. I don't think Punjab would be looking at him."

During a recent&nbsp;interaction, ABD revealed how he has been offered apartments to move to India.

To this, de&nbsp;Villiers said in the RCB podcast, "I hope it's a big apartment because I have three kids now and we need a lot of room! Iyer is reportedly on RCB's radar for the captaincy role after Kohli's decision to quit. However, former India opener Aakash Chopra believes RCB should not keep the Indian star batter as their number one option. While sharing his views on the RCB captaincy debate, Chopra suggested the franchise can rope in West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder as the captain of the team.

Chopra also suggested the idea of Glenn Maxwell, who has been retained by the franchise, as a potential captaincy candidate for IPL 2022. While Maxwell is already part of the RCB squad, Holder played for Sunrisers Hyderabad last year and will be entering the IPL mega auction this time around.

"Shreyas Iyer is an option. Bangalore can think about him but personally, he is not my No. 1 pick for Bangalore because the ground is not like that. He is a top-order batter and it will not work out if you send him below No. 4. You might not have a place till No. 4 as you have Kohli and Maxwell, and you are trying to bat Maxwell up the order," Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.

RCB have managed to qualify for the playoffs in the last two seasons but are yet to win their maiden IPL trophy. Former skipper of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Virat Kohli hailed the "special bond" with the "amazing" team after the franchise announced that 'King Kohli' has been retained ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction. RCB have also retained Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, along with fast bowler Mohammed Siraj.

Kohli, who has been with the team since inception, is retained for INR 150 million and Maxwell, who was signed by the team last season, was retained for INR 110 million. The franchise has invested a sum of INR 70 million to keep pacer Siraj, who has been with the team since 2018.&nbsp;

After the names were released, Kohli said that he did not have any second thoughts about staying with RCB. In a recorded video uploaded on the official Twitter handle of the Bengaluru-based team, Kohli said, "The journey continues, I have been retained by RCB. When I was contacted, did not have any second thoughts at all."&nbsp;

"The player retention process has been pretty robust and exhaustive. We’ve got an exceptional bunch of players but the key for us was to ensure we have a sizeable auction purse going into the IPL Mega Auction," Hesson said. "We had many good players whom we considered and were happy to retain, but that would have taken away our flexibility from the auction to get a balanced squad. We look to retain as many players during the auction as we build the perfect squad for 2022 and beyond," he added. As per ESPN Cricinfo, Sunrisers Hyderabad have retained captain Kane Williamson ahead of the mega auction. The franchise were also keen on retaining Rashid Khan but it remains to be seen if he will stay with SRH or not.

Rajasthan Royals have retained only three players, as per a report in the Times of India. Skipper Samson is their first-choice retention and will be paid Rs 14 crore (INR 140 million). Jos Buttler and young Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal are the other two players retained by RR.
