The police officers said that the victim had suffered burn injuries on her face and neck, as well as other injuries on her limbs and back, and had been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital in the Indian capital.<br />

Speaking to the media about the matter, Deputy Commissioner Of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan said, “We took prompt action and arrested the accused. The two knew each other for 5-6 months. We are investigating the matter.”</p>

<p>A complaint has been received from Jogi Mukesh stating that he was not able to contact his wife who had gone to Oman for work, Durg Additional Superintendent of Police (city) Abhishek Jha said on Monday.</p>

<p>When asked about the next course of action, he said the police would approach the Centre.</p>

<p>Mukesh, a resident of Durg district, told PTI that his wife Dipika went to Oman last March to work as a cook.</p>

<p>He also appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.</p>

<p>"She came in contact with one agent Abdullah from Hyderabad through a person from Khursipar in Bhilai (Durg). The agent facilitated her journey from Kerala to Oman. We (the couple) were initially informed that my wife would work as a cook at a house there, but she was forced to do household chores. It continued for 6-7 months. I had told her to adjust," he said.</p>

<p>Recently, Dipika was assaulted by her employer. Subsequently, I spoke to her employer, a woman, on the phone and asked her to send my wife back but she demanded money&nbsp;for her release, Mukesh claimed.</p>

<p>"I have complained to the police. I also appeal to the prime minister sir to ensure my wife's return to India,"&nbsp;he said.</p>

<p>“Five further people were also treated at the scene. They were all taken to hospital by London ambulance service crews. Crews also used specialist equipment to detect a corrosive substance that is believed to have been used in the incident.," a fire brigade spokesperson said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"There was a man in a white car with two children. It looked like he tried to run over a woman. They had been fighting. One girl in the back had her hand on the window - you can see the mark on the car," the eyewitness told <em>Sky News</em>.</p>

<p>"He grabbed one of the two children and violently grabbed them and slammed them on the floor. The lady then shouted 'My eyes! My eyes! Call the police, my eyes!" he added.&nbsp;</p>

Mysterious 'corrosive' substance leaves 9 people injured in south London

"The issue of custody of her son must have been at the back of her mind for many days, triggering the drastic step,” he added. "She was in touch with her doctor, a parental therapist, before committing the crime. We are verifying call details to know who she called after the boy's death," said the police officer. <p>"There is a smell of gas here in downtown. We're not sure if the smell of gas was caused from the explosion or the fire itself, or if that's what caused the explosion," said Trojacek.</p>

<p>Earlier, Trojacek said that reports of an explosion were reported from a restaurant where some construction was underway, however, they “we’re not 100% sure that that’s where it actually started."</p>

<p>He added that a secondary search of the hotel was underway as of 6 pm&nbsp;(local time). There were 26 rooms with guests inside them in the hotel.</p>

<p>In a statement, the hotel said that it was working with first responders and hoping to help those who have suffered injuries.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On the anniversary of 2001 Parliament terror attack, accused Sagar and Manoranjan jumped from the public gallery to the Lok Sabha chamber during Zero Hour and released yellow smoke from canisters shouting slogans before being overpowered by some of the MPs.</p>

<p>The accused gained entry inside the Parliament premises using&nbsp;visitor&nbsp;passes which were facilitated by the Lok Sabha member from Mysuru Pratap Simha.</p>

<p>In the interrogation, Sagar said that he tried making a cavity in the shoes after he discovered that they were not getting checked when people were trying to get entry into the Parliament, according to PTI.<br />

He has told the interrogators that he bought two pairs of shoes for Rs 595 each from a shop near his house and approached the cobbler, who visited Alambagh on a bicycle,” a source was quoted as saying to the news agency.</p>

<p>“The cavity was found created by cutting the inside sole of the left shoe. The thickness of the sole of shoes is also found to increase by affixing additional rubber sole at the bottom to support the cavity. The inside sole of the right foot shoe was also found partly cut,” mentioned the&nbsp;FIR report.</p>

<p>The United Kingdom police on Friday (Dec 22) said that they've opened a criminal investigation into the disappearance of a British teenage boy who went missing and resurfaced in France six years after. The Greater Manchester Police is treating the case of 17-year-old Alex Batty as abduction. Batty has now returned to UK.</p>

At least 11 Iranian officers killed in jihadist terror attack on police station

<p>An eight-year-old boy was found in a horrific condition by police officials in Illinois, United States. He was beaten and starved in the home and a sign hung on his bedroom door that read,&nbsp;'Don't give Navin any food.'&nbsp;</p>

<p>The boy, identified as Navin Jones, was unconscious and in a skeletal state at his Peoria home on March 29, 2022, and taken to a hospital, where he died. At the time of death, the boy weighed only 30 pounds, as per the testimony.</p>

<p>Now, his father, if convicted of first-degree murder, can face life imprisonment, while his mother had pleaded guilty to the crime already.</p>

<p>The little boy was kept locked in a room which was covered in faeces and urine. There were also signs of physical abuse across his body, arms, face and legs. The note on the bedroom door of the boy read: "Don't give Navin any food or drink. Do not let him out of the room. He has what he needs until I wake up."&nbsp;</p>

<p>His 37-year-old mother Stephanie Jones has been facing at least 20 years imprisonment when she gets sentenced next February. &nbsp;</p>

<p>State's Attorney Jodi Hoos, taking into account the mother's guilty plea, agreed not to grant her a life sentence.</p>

<p>On the day of the incident, the woman went to a nearby forest to collect Siali leaves. Her elder brother was also there with his cows.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He called his four friends to the forest, got them drunk and under the influence of alcohol, they took turns in raping her, police said.</p>

<p>As the woman fought back, they strangulated her, and then attacked her with an axe, killing her on the spot, said Lalit Mohan Sagar, the inspector-in-charge of Chakapad police station.</p>

<p>The brother also lodged a missing person's complaint with the police on November 6, he said.</p>

Although this year hundreds of OGWs (Over the Ground Workers) have been arrested by the J&amp;K Police, the direct access by social media sites will give them a further edge to break the terror networks in the valley.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In recent times, every other day Jammu and Kashmir Police bust the terror networks and arrested OGWs.</p>

<p>In North Kashmir's Baramulla district, one Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist and five terror associates including two women were arrested by J&amp;K Police.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The police have arrested an active LeT terrorist and five terrorist associates in Baramulla district and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition including grenades and pistols from them. The process of arrests started after two suspects were detained in September in Uri. The five terror associates arrested include two women and a juvenile as well. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Baramulla and an investigation was taken up'', said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Barmulla Amog Nagpure.&nbsp;</p>

J&K Police get access to track anti-national individuals on social media sites

<p>Venezuelan Police found Bitcoin mining machines, guns with bucketloads of bullets, rocket launchers and grenades in a prison overrun by a powerful gang which they freed in an operation that reportedly involved 11,000 soldiers and cops.</p>

<p>On Thursday (Sept 21), the security personnel moved in, backed up by tanks and armoured vehicles, to free the Tocoron prison in the north-central state of Aragua, which served as the headquarters for the Tren de Aragua gang.</p>

<p>Tocoron prison was a haven for these gang members who had built hotel-like amenities like a pool, restaurant and a mini zoo for themselves.</p>

<p>The zoo had tigers, lions, crocodiles and pumas that were used to challenge prisoners and the authority of government officials.</p>

<p>The prison even had a nightclub named Tokio (Spanish for the Japanese city) where the criminals used to regularly party, and a restaurant were prisoners dined with their visitors.</p>

<h2><strong>Hotel-like amenities&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>There was also a baseball field, a room where gambling activities took place, and another where inmates mined cryptocurrency illegally.</p>

<p>The criminal group also set up small shacks where some members lived with their families and had access to satellite television and the internet.</p>

<p>During the raid, a major died after hitting his head on the door of an armoured car.</p>

<p>The fact that members of Venezuela's most feared criminal gang had virtual control over the prison has given birth to speculations that the jail authorities may have been in cahoots with the Tren de Aragua.</p>

<p>Speaking to reporters, Interior and Justice Minister Remigio Ceballos said that four prison guards were arrested as suspected accomplices of gang members who had lived it up behind bars.</p>

<p>President Nicolás Maduro congratulated the armed forces for getting rid of the criminals.</p>

<p>“I congratulate the more than 11,000 members of the FANB (National Bolivarian Armed Forces of Venezuela) and police forces for the successful intervention of the Tocorón Penitentiary Center,” Maduro wrote on X, moments after the raid.</p>

<p>“We are heading towards a Venezuela free of criminal gangs!”</p>

<p>During the operation, around 60 Tren de Aragua members were captured and four prison officials arrested for allegedly allowing the smuggling of weapons, Ceballos said on Thursday.</p>

<p>Venezuelan newspaper El Nacional reported that between 400 to 500 prisoners were still missing. Union Radio reported that the fugitives may be hiding out in the mountain area near El Junquito.</p>
