Pakistan fast bowler Haris Raud recently revealed he used to work part-time as a salesman while recalling his&nbsp;struggles from tape-ball cricket to professional cricket. "Most of the cricketers from Pakistan start with tape-ball cricket and my start was no different. I used to play on roads and never thought to be a professional cricketer. I used to study and do part-time job as a salesman,"&nbsp;Rauf said in a video on Pakistan Cricket’s Twitter handle.

"When I joined my university, I started playing professional tape-ball cricket in different cities and earning money to manage my fees. I went to the trials of Lahore Qalandars in 2017 and got selected there,"&nbsp;he stated.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam took a dig at his team's critics after leading his team into the finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 on Wednesday (November 09). The Men in Green pulled off a miraculous comeback when they made it to the semi-finals of the tournament despite facing back-to-back defeats against India and Zimbabwe in their first two matches in the Super 12 stage.

On Thursday, Pakistan thrashed New Zealand by seven wickets in the first semi-final to book a spot in the all-important summit clash where they will face the winner&nbsp;of the second semi-final England. A spirited Pakistan produced an excellent all-round performance in the semi-final to outclass the Kiwis in all three departments.

Shaheen Shah Afridi starred with the ball as he picked up a couple of wickets to help Pakistan restrict New Zealand to a moderate total of 152/4 in 20 overs before skipper Babar and his opening partner Mohammad Rizwan made light work of the run-chase.

Babar (53) and Rizwan (57) slammed half-centuries apiece to post a brilliant 105-run stand for the first wicket and turn the game completely in Pakistan's favour. After Babar's departure, Mohammad Haris played a decent cameo of 26-ball 30 to help Pakistan seal victory with five balls to spare and secure a spot in the final.

Speaking after his team's victory, Pakistan captain Babar took a dig at his team's critics and advised former cricketers, who were critical of Pakistan's performance earlier in the tournament, to celebrate their victory in the semi-final.

Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar wants to see arch-rivals India and Pakistan take on each other in a blockbuster clash in the final of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. Both India and Pakistan managed to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament after South Africa's shock defeat against Netherlands on Sunday (November 06).

South Africa were favourites to qualify from Group 2 with five points from their first four games. However, a surprise defeat against Netherlands in their last game paved way for Pakistan to make it to the knockout stages. Babar Azam &amp; Co. defeated Bangladesh by five wickets on the final day of the Super 12 stage to finish in the second spot in Group 2 and make it to the next round.

"Hopefully, India and Pakistan don’t return home after the semi-finals. I want to watch an India-Pakistan final. The broadcasters and the ICC will have the most fun is this happens," Akhtar said in a video on his YouTube channel.

The legendary Pakistani pacer insisted it will be a 'big joke' if both India and Pakistan lose their semi-final matches. Akhtar believes Pakistan haven't played their best cricket in the tournament yet but feels they have a strong chance to beat New Zealand considering their past record against the Kiwis.

"We are hoping to meet India once again. All of you were saying that we’ve been eliminated. If both teams get knocked out in the semi-finals, it’ll become a big joke. Pakistan needs to win their semi-final. Now it depends on how India wants to play," said Akhtar.

Heading into the final day of the Super 12 stage on Sunday, Pakistan needed a miracle to qualify for the semi-finals with just four points from as many matches. Having played tremendous cricket in the group stage, South Africa were touted to win against minnow Netherlands and confirm their spot in the top four.

However, South Africa lost by 13 runs which made Pakistan's clash against Bangladesh a virtual semi-final. An elated Akhtar thanked South Africa and labeled them 'big chokers' after their surprise defeat kept Pakistan alive in the tournament despite having suffered heartbreaking losses against India and Zimbabwe.

"I just woke up. Thank you, South Africa. You guys are big chokers because you gave Pakistan another chance. It was a big favour. All Pakistan needs to do is just go out there and win this game," Akhtar said in a video posted on Twitter.

"I didn’t think Pakistan deserved this chance after losing to Zimbabwe but Pakistan got a lifeline, a lottery. I think Bangladesh are great people but we need this World Cup, we need to see India once all over again," he added.

'You are big chokers': Shoaib Akhtar thanks South Africa as Pakistan qualify for T20 World Cup semis

On Thursday (November 03), former Pakistan Prime Minister&nbsp;Imran Khan was injured after a firing during his 'real freedom' rally in Wazirabad. The shocking incident took place at the Zafarali Khan Chowk.&nbsp;As per video footage on Geo TV, the former Pakistan cricket captain suffered three-four gunshots in his right leg. While the assassination attempt has left the entire country in a state of shock, the party officials confirmed that Imran is safe. Nonetheless, there is one causality as one person is reported to have been killed in the firing.

Many compared the attack with the former prime minister Benazir Bhutto being assassinated at a rally back in 2007. Since the incident, reactions have been pouring in from all corners. Pakistan's cricket fraternity also joined in with the likes of captain Babar Azam, Rawalpindi Express Shoaib Akhtar, Wasim Akram and many others sharing their reactions on Twitter.&nbsp;

"Movies conjure up an image of rehab as a caring, nurturing environment. This facility was brutal: a bare building with five cells, a meeting room and a kitchen. The doctor was a complete con man, who worked primarily on manipulating families rather than treating patients, on separating relatives from money rather than users from drugs.

"The treatment was essentially sedation, with fistfuls of tablets to take in the morning and evening, coupled with lectures and prayer. I felt lethargic. I gained weight. For an hour a day I wandered round our little exercise yard like a zombie... I screamed at my wife. ‘I’ve got to get out of here'," Akram writes in his book.

"It was horrible. That scarred me for a bit . . . when people keep you against your will that pisses you off," Akram writes describing his experience in rehab.

"Try as I might, part of me was still smouldering inside about the indignity of what I’d been put through. My pride was hurt, and the lure of my lifestyle remained. I briefly contemplated divorce. I settled for heading to the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy where, out from under Huma’s daily scrutiny, I started using again, he says about his return to old habits.

Legendary Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram has slammed Pakistan captain Babar Azam after the team's humiliating defeat against Zimbabwe in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. Akram and his former bowling partner Waqar Younis criticised&nbsp;Babar for being selfish when it came to retaining his opening spot in the batting line-up.

In a discussion on a Pakistan channel following the team's 1-run defeat against Zimbabwe, Waqar pointed out how there have been constant changes in the bowling department and the middle-order in Pakistan's T20I team, however, the openers have never been changed.&nbsp;

Waqar believes opening is the easiest spot in T20Is and that Babar should have challenged himself by batting at no.3 and allowing someone else to take the top spot to set an example as a leader.

“The easiest place to bat in T20s is opening. You have not let anyone else open in the last two years. I have discussed this with Misbah before&nbsp;that why don’t you try something new? You have tried it out with bowling, but with batting, we have tried all the experiments with the middle order. But the openers have remained the same and they have batted 14-15 overs together,” Waqar said on A Sports.
