The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday announced the match schedule of the New Zealand men`s cricket team`s dual tours of Pakistan. "New Zealand will play two Tests as part of their ICC World Test Championship title defence and three ICC Men`s Cricket World Cup Super League fixtures from December 27 to January 15, before returning for five T20Is and five ODIs from April 13 to May 7. On the first leg of the Pakistan tour, Kane Williamson`s side will play Tests in Karachi (December 27-31) and Multan (January 4-8). They will return to Karachi for the three ICC Super League matches on January 11, 13 and 15," PCB said in an official statement.

The Karachi Test will be New Zealand`s first in the metropolitan city since October 1990 when Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis shared 15 wickets between them and Shoaib Mohammad scored 203 not out, and the first in Pakistan since the May 2002 Test in Lahore in which Inzamam-ul-Haq scored a memorable 329 and Shoaib Akhtar recorded first innings figures of 8.2-4-11-6.It continues to be a memorable year for Multan as well. After hosting three ODIs against the West Indies in May, they will stage the second Test between Pakistan and England (December (9-13), before holding the second Test between Pakistan and New Zealand. Multan has also been announced as one of the four venues of the HBL Pakistan Super League, which will be held from February 9 to March 19. New Zealand will begin the second leg of the Pakistan tour in Karachi with four T20Is (April 13, 15, 16 and 19), followed by the fifth T20I and two ODIs in Lahore (April 23, 26 and 28) and last three ODIs will be played in Rawalpindi (May 1, 4 and 7).

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja claims the Indian cricket team has started taking Pakistan more seriously and have been givingthem more respect after the recent results in the meetings between the two teams. Pakistan had defeated India by 10 wickets in the high-profile clash between the arch-rivals at the T20 World Cup last year.

Pakistan, who had never won a World Cup against India in the history, managed to beat the Men in Blue by ten wickets to bring an end to a long wait. Babar Azam &amp; Co. played some fantastic cricket throughout the tournament but failed to make it to the final of the T20 World Cup in the UAE.

'Billion-dollar team' India have started respecting Pakistan after recent results, says PCB chief Ramiz Raja

On Thursday (October 06), Thailand pulled off a huge upset win over Pakistan beating them by four wickets in a low-scoring thriller in the ongoing Women's Asia Cup, in Bangladesh. Opting to bat first, the Bismah Mahroof-led Women in Green only managed a paltry 116 for 5 in their full quota of overs.&nbsp;Sidra Ameen, their opening batter, was the top run-getter as she scored 56 but her stay comprised of 64 deliveries, at a slow strike rate of 87.50.

None of the Pakistani batters found momentum to go big from the word go and paid the price to only manage 116. In reply, Thailand batters also found it tough to get going as the surface proved to be a challenge but Natthakan Chantham's 51-ball 61 led her side to a four-wicket win&nbsp;on the penultimate ball of the contest. Nida Dar and&nbsp;Tuba Hassan accounted for two scalps each but couldn't prevent the opposition from hitting the winning runs.

With this win, Thailand have thrown the top-4 race wide open. It is not straight forward as it was previously. In the points table, Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian eves still hold the top spot, with Pakistan's two-match winning run coming to an end. Pakistan and Sri Lanka follow suit, with four points each, with Bangladesh, Thailand and UAE taking the next slots, respectively. Malaysia remain the only winless side so far.

On Friday (September 30), the International Cricket Council (ICC)&nbsp;announced the prize money for the upcoming edition of the T20 WC. The winning team is set to walk&nbsp;away with a staggering sum of INR $1.6 million whereas the runners-up will&nbsp;attain half the amount, i.e.&nbsp;$8, 00, 000.

Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shaheed Afridi has rued the lack of a finisher of Indian star Hardik Pandya's quality in the current Pakistan side. Lauding Hardik for his batting heroics, Afridi claimed Pakistan need a finisher like him in their batting line-up ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022.

Among these four players, at least two need to be consistent. The period in which Shadab bowls is very crucial. The day he does a good job with the ball, Pakistan wins," said Afridi.

Rizwan managed 55 runs off 49 balls at a strike rate of 112.24 which cost Pakistan the game as they fell short in the run chase. Among those who were critical of Rizwan's approach was the legendary Wasim Akram as he bashed the opening batter for his slow scoring rate.

Akram pointed out Rizwan had batted similarly against Hong Kong earlier in the tournament and revealed he was attacked on social media by fans for calling out the Pakistan batter over his performance. The legendary cricketer said insisted he is not someone who can sing false praise of someone who isn't performing well.
