Nicolas Cage wants to cut short his film career after being a part of the world of films for decades. In a new interview, the actor revealed that he wants to pivot to TV and leave movies. “I feel I’ve pretty much said what I’ve had to say with cinema. I think I have to do maybe three or four more movies before I can get there, and then hopefully switch formats and go into some other way of expressing my acting,” said Nicolas Cage.&nbsp;

Nicolas has about three to four films in the pipeline before he can bid goodbye to the movie world.&nbsp;

<h2>Nicolas Cage has a newfound liking for TV</h2>

The actor has found a new liking for TV after his son showed him Breaking Bad “like last year” and it made him “very interested in immersion streaming with episodic television.” He said, “I have seen things that can be done now with characters and the time they’re given to express themselves. I saw Bryan Cranston stare at a suitcase for an hour on one episode of Breaking Bad. We don’t have time to do that in a feature film, so maybe television is the next best step for me. We’ll see.”

Cage feels he’s “explored the margins of film performance” and “done every genre,” to the point that “the only thing I haven’t done is Broadway and I haven’t done a television show.”&nbsp;

He added, “Where do I go that would challenge me and stretch me and make me grow in some way? Where would I go where I would learn? How do I pour yeast on my education as an actor? I don’t know if I have anything else to learn in cinema. I might have something to learn in television.”

One big reason he wants to distance himself from movies is the commitment they ask for. He wants to now focus on family and “spend some quality time with my family. And I’m going to be 60 next month and my dad died at 75. So it’s like, if I’m lucky, I have more years than he did, but I don’t know. And so what am I going to do with my next 15 years? Well, what’s important? What’s important is my children and I have a baby daughter. And if I can find an episodic show to do that stays in one place where I don’t have to keep leaving, we can all be together.”

Nicolas Cage wants to bid goodbye to films and move to TV

Nicolas Cage doesn't like the use of Artificial Intelligence in films. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that AI was used in his last film, Warner Bros.’ The Flash.

Speaking to Yahoo! Entertainment, the actor said that his cameo part in The Flash was distorted using AI. “AI is a nightmare to me. It’s inhumane. You can’t get more inhumane than artificial intelligence,” he said, voicing his concerns.&nbsp;

Nicolas said that the final scene in The Flash was different from what he shot for the 2023 superhero movie. He said, “What I was supposed to do was literally just be standing in an alternate dimension, if you will, and witnessing the destruction of the universe. Kal-El was bearing witness [to] the end of a universe, and you can imagine with that short amount of time that I had, what that would mean in terms of what I can convey. I had no dialogue [so had to] convey with my eyes the emotion. So that’s what I did. I was on set for maybe three hours.”

In The Flash, Nicolas Cage’s Man of Steel is seen battling a giant spider as the multiverse begins to collapse. The actor said, “When I went to the picture, it was me fighting a giant spider. I did not do that. That was not what I did. I don’t think it was [created by] AI. I know Tim [Burton] is upset about AI, as I am. It was CGI, OK, so that they could de-age me, and I’m fighting a spider. I didn’t do any of that, so I don’t know what happened there.”

This is not the first time that actors are talking against the use of Artificial Intelligence in their films. In September, Tim Burton criticised AI recreations of Disney characters in his trademark style in an interview. Dissing it, he said, “I can’t describe the feeling it gives you. It reminded me of when other cultures say, ‘Don’t take my picture because it is taking away your soul. What it does is it sucks something from you. It takes something from your soul or psyche; that is very disturbing, especially if it has to do with you. It’s like a robot taking your humanity, your soul.”

Nicolas Cage doesn't like the use of Artificial Intelligence in films. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that AI was used in his last film, Warner Bros.’ The Flash. Speaking to Yahoo! Entertainment, the actor said that his cameo part in The Flash was distorted using AI. “AI is a nightmare to me. It’s inhumane. You can’t get more inhumane than artificial intelligence,” he said, voicing his concerns. I was on set for maybe three hours.” In The Flash, Nicolas Cage’s Man of Steel is seen battling a giant spider as the multiverse begins to collapse. 'AI is a nightmare to me, it's inhumane': Nicolas Cage slams use of AI in films

Nicolas Cage's latest thriller, Sympathy for the Devil, is set to make its Indian debut exclusively on Lionsgate Play on September 29th. Directed by Yuval Adler, the film promises an intense and suspenseful experience. The film's plot centres around a taxi driver (Joel Kinnaman) en route to the hospital when his journey takes a terrifying turn. An uninvited passenger interrupts the ride, brandishing a firearm and forcing the driver into a nightmarish situation. As the car ride progresses, long-buried secrets emerge, leaving both the driver and the passenger (played by Nicolas Cage) in a state of shock.

Cage discussed his character, The Passenger, in the film. He described him in a statement as enigmatic and puzzling, with a motive to coax The Driver back into a darker, more sinister side of himself. Both characters find themselves at the epicentre of a tragic event, driving the suspense and tension in the film.

"This is going to be a high-wire character in the so-called reportorial, I think it's going to be amazing." The actor also humourously acknowledged the reputation of his distinctive hairstyles in reflecting the nature of his characters, suggesting that audiences should keep an eye on his hair as a hint to the character's depth and complexity.

<h2>Sympathy for the Devil reviews</h2>

The reviews for Sympathy for the Devil have been mixed. Some critics have praised Nicolas Cage's performance as a mysterious, possibly supernatural gunman, while others have found the film to be predictable and violent.

Rotten Tomatoes has a 59 per cent approval rating for the film, based on 20 reviews. The consensus reads, "Sympathy for the Devil makes the most of Nicolas Cage's propensity for playing unhinged characters -- and for some viewers, that'll be more than enough to make it worth a watch."

Nicolas Cage's Sympathy for the Devil gets OTT release date in India

Nicolas Cage once tried eating cockroaches and he would never do it again. While speaking to Yahoo Entertainment, he said that he deeply regrets gobbling a live cockroach while making the 1988 black horror comedy Vampire's Kiss. "I’ll never do that again. I’m sorry I did it at all," he said. In the Robert Bierman film, Cage plays the role of a literary critic called &nbsp;Peter Loew who gets bitten in the neck by a woman and believes he has become a vampire. In one scene, the script had that Cage's character eating a raw egg. But Cage thought eating a cockroach would be more effective as it would "shock the audience". So that is what he did.&nbsp;

Talk about adding a crunch to your performance!

The film also featured María Conchita Alonso, Jennifer Beals, and Elizabeth Ashley in major roles. Despite decent reviews and a committed Cage performance, the film was a box office bomb.

Recently, Cage played an actual vampire in the horror comedy Renfield. He essayed Count Dracula. The film, directed by Chris McKay, also featured Nicholas Hoult, Awkwafina, Ben Schwartz, Adrian Martinez, and Shohreh Aghdashloo. Hoult essays the titular R. M. Renfield, the Count's assistant who is desperate to get out of the powerful vampire's grasp. For centuries now, he has had the unsavoury task of bringing his boss innocent victims like nuns and cheerleaders so he could feast on them. His life changes when he falls in love with a feisty traffic cop Rebecca Quincy (Awkwafina).

Renfield reviews: Nicolas Cage and Nicholas Hoult's vampire comedy movie divides critics

Hollywood star Nicolas Cage is open to returning as Dracula for a `Renfield` sequel.

The 59-year-old actor relished putting his own spin on Bram Stoker`s iconic vampire creation for the new movie while the movie has also given him a chance to work with Nicholas Hoult again after first teaming up on The Weather Man, reports aceshowbiz.com.

"If there`s room for it. I mean, I`m happy with the time that I had to play Dracula for Universal in this film, and I`m very happy I got to support Nic. I`ve been wanting to work with him for a while again. You know, I enjoyed our time on The Weather Man. I think it plays beautifully. I think what he brought to this character is totally brand new, and I`m very happy to be a part of that," he told Collider when asked if he`d return for a follow-up.

However, Cage described the opportunity to take on such a legendary role as a once-in-a-lifetime offer. He made the point while noting he "wasn`t intimidated" by working on what director Chris McKay referred to as a direct sequel to 1931`s Dracula.

He said, "Well, I think that whenever - Whenever?` I mean, that sounds ridiculous. When do you get a phone call from Universal saying, `We want you to play Dracula?` That`s never gonna happen again. It`s like every, maybe, 100 years? I wasn`t intimidated by it because my Dracula`s - you know, I`m sure Bela Lugosi`s great in the role and he launched a billion viewers, but he wasn`t my Dracula."

Nicolas Cage would love to reprise his dracula role if Renfield gets sequel

Nicolas Cage essays the role of Count Dracula in the upcoming horror comedy Renfield, but the film is mainly about the vampire's titular assistant R. M. Renfield, played by Nicholas Hoult. Renfield in the film is desperate to get out of the powerful vampire's grasp. For centuries now, he has had the unsavoury task of bringing his boss innocent victims like nuns and cheerleaders so Dracula could feast on them.

In a recent interview, Cage said he did not have enough time to delve deep into his character and would like to star in a solo movie. Coming from Bram Stoker's Victorian Gothic epistolary novel Dracula 1897, the character has been portrayed many times by iconic actors like Gary Oldman and Christopher Lee.&nbsp;

Cage told Variety, "You know, there are some minor moments here where you get to see some of the pathos in Dracula’s eyes. That made me think that maybe one day I might like to try for a whole movie where you’re really understanding the psyche of the character. I didn’t really have the time to delve into that here.”

He added, “I also kind of always knew I had to do it at some point. I went back to Christopher Lee, in terms of his manner of speaking, but that was really only a starting point. I knew Christopher. I did a small scene with him in ‘Season of the Witch,’ and I liked him very much. We had a lot of nice conversations, and he reminded me quite a bit of my father, August. So from then on, my dad sort of became the main inspiration for me.”

Directed by Chris McKay and scripted by Ryan Ridley, the film also stars.&nbsp;

The official synopsis reads, "In this modern monster tale of Dracula’s loyal servant, Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road, X-Men franchise) stars as Renfield, the tortured aide to history’s most narcissistic boss, Dracula (Oscar® winner Nicolas Cage). &nbsp;Renfield is forced to procure his master’s prey and do his every bidding, no matter how debased. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to see if there’s a life outside the shadow of The Prince of Darkness. &nbsp;If only he can figure out how to end his codependency."

Renfield will release on April 14 in the US.&nbsp;

Renfield is forced to procure his master’s prey and do his every bidding, no matter how debased. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to see if there’s a life outside the shadow of The Prince of Darkness. If only he can figure out how to end his codependency." Nicolas Cage wants a solo Dracula movie after playing the character in Renfield: 'Didn’t have the time...'

Paramount had announced a sequel to 1997's action-thriller 'Face/Off' in 2019 but then the COVID-19 pandemic struck and the project has been something of limbo since then. But now Nicolas Cage, who has earlier said that he has had initial discussions about the sequel, has revealed details about the film. He was speaking to Collider when he said, "I think Face/Off is a sequel that lends itself to a lot of twists and turns and unpredictability. It's almost like if you factor in the idea of offspring and Castor and Sean having children and these children grow up, then it becomes like three-dimensional chess, and then it's not just the two, John Travolta and myself, it's four of us ping-ponging and going at different levels, and it becomes even more complex."

He added, "I think there's a lot of fertile ground there. I had maybe one meeting in an office, but I haven't heard anything since, so I don't know."

When Paramount announced the film in 2019, it was reported that the sequel will feature a new cast. But there is clearly a potential for Cage and Travolta to return, apart from the new cast. The film had Travolta's FBI agent Sean Archer obsessing over bringing Cage's terrorist Castor Troy to justice. Troy goes into a coma after a plane crashes. Archer gets his face removed and replaces it with Troy's to get intel from Troy's brothers. Meanwhile, Troy wakes up from the coma and gets the face of Archer. The premise may sound absurd, but the film is worth watching for the action and performances.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds a rating of 92 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes. The critical consensus reads, "John Travolta and Nicolas Cage play cat-and-mouse (and literally play each other) against a beautifully stylized backdrop of typically elegant, over-the-top John Woo violence."

'Face/Off' was a commercial success as well. On a budget of $80 million, it grossed $245.7 million.

'Face/Off' sequel: Nicolas Cage teases plot details

The first trailer for 'Renfield' is here. Directed by Chris McKay, the film has Nicolas Cage portraying Count Dracula, a fictional vampire from Bram Stoker's 1897 epistolary novel 'Dracula'. Nicholas Hoult essays the titular R. You can watch the trailer for yourself below. Ryan Ridley has penned the script.

McKay appears to have brought the sense of humour from his 'The Lego Batman Movie'. Judging purely by the trailer at least, 'Renfield' looks super fun. The script and direction are treating the premise with irreverence, which is the best way to deal with such premises.&nbsp;We see Cage's Dracula only in fleeting glimpses, but we already know the Oscar winner's vampire is going to be a blast, even if he will make a mess of the Romanian accent. Ben Schwartz and Adrian Martinez also star.

It looks like American singer Erika Jayne has landed herself in legal trouble. According to a report by Page Six, Christina Fulton, the ex-girlfriend of Nicolas Cage, has filed a lawsuit for $700,000-plus against Erika Jayne and two former Girardi &amp; Keese attorneys for alleged fraud and theft. In her court filings that were submitted on Friday, Fulton has accused Jayne’s estranged husband, attorney Tom Girardi, and his ex-colleagues Samantha Gold and John Kelley Courtney, of stealing from her settlement money.&nbsp;

Fulton, 55, endured severe injuries in a car accident in January 2016 and soon after recovering, sought legal representation from the then-prestigious Girardi &amp; Keese law firm. The case was concluded in a confidential settlement agreement filed on March 18, 2019, with a settlement amount of USD 924,300, per the suit. Gold was Fulton’s primary counsel, while Courtney worked as a senior attorney on the case, but Girardi owned and controlled the company at the time.

In the court documents, Fulton mentions that on July 14, 2022, through "newly discovered financial documents" she learned about where her settlement funds actually went. The lawsuit revealed that Fulton’s settlement check had been deposited into a Girardi and Keese bank account without her consent on April 8, 2019.&nbsp;

"This was a complete outright forgery as [Fulton] never endorsed this check and certainly never agreed to have it deposited," the lawsuit claims. "This negotiated check was in fact a forgery and a lie. The check was never held in trust but spent. It is beyond shocking and the pale that the firm would conceal the arrival of the check and not obtain Ms. Fulton’s endorsement as required by law."

The court filings also noted that Fulton had only received a total of USD 190,000 of her settlement between April 2019 and September 2020. Fulton’s lawyers ascertain that it was Girardi’s regular pattern "to dupe his clients into waiting for money by dribbling small payments." She also received an advance of USD 5,000, leaving a USD 744,300 balance, which is the amount she is seeking in damages.&nbsp;

Fulton’s attorneys have also claimed to have evidence relating to the settlement funds, which were given to Girardi &amp; Keese in three separate checks on different dates. Fulton’s lawsuit further alleged that Jayne had received her funds via the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star’s company, EJ Global. The funds were transferred to Pretty Mess Inc. afterward.&nbsp;

Fulton claimed that Jayne and Girardi had used her funds like their own "assets" to "pay for their lavish lifestyle."&nbsp;

"For at least 12 years, all of her expenses were paid by Girardi Keese as she was generating them. No one withdrew money from the firm other than Erika Girardi," the lawsuit claimed.&nbsp;

Nicolas Cage and his fifth wife Riko Shibata are expecting a baby girl, reveals her name

Hollywood star Nicolas Cage has expressed disagreement towards his uncle Francis Ford Coppola when it comes to superhero movies like the Marvel films.

According to Variety, recently, while speaking to a magazine, the actor defended the genre against various criticisms made by top filmmakers including Coppola and Martin Scorsese.

In 2019, Cappola had been quoted calling Marvel movies "despicable" while supporting Scorsese`s critical beliefs about comic book films hurting the film industry.

The filmmaker later clarified that he wasn`t referring to Marvel films specifically, rather he meant that it`s "despicable" how the film industry now values commerce over art.

Scorsese and Coppola`s primary criticism is that Marvel and comic book films have reshaped exhibition so that only one type of movie now gets produced and distributed at the theatrical level."There used to be studio films. Now there are Marvel pictures. And what is a Marvel picture? A Marvel picture is one prototype movie that is made over and over and over and over and over again to look different," Coppola had himself explained in an interview earlier this year.

Defending these films, Cage stated, "I don`t understand the conflict. I don`t agree with them on that perception or opinion. I think that the movies that I make, like `Pig` or `Joe,` are not in any kind of conflict with Marvel movies."He continued, "I don`t think the Marvel movie had anything to do with the end of the tweener. By tweener, I mean the USD 30 to USD 50 million budget movie. I think movies are in good shape. If you look at `Power of the Dog,` or if you look at `Spencer,` or any of Megan Ellison`s movies. I think that there`s still Paul Thomas Anderson."

"Marvel has done a really excellent job of entertaining the whole family. They put a lot of thought into it. I mean, it`s definitely had a big progression from when I was doing the first two `Ghost Rider` movies. Kevin Feige, or whoever is behind that machine, has found a masterful way of weaving the stories together and interconnecting all the characters," the actor added.He further said, "I just, I don`t see what the issue is."

As per Variety, there have been rumours that in the upcoming `Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness`, Cage might be reprising his `Ghost Ride` role. However, during the interview, the actor dismissed this by saying "I`d love to work with Cumberbatch, but I don`t think that`s happening."&nbsp;
