Before launching its missile barrage and a brutal war against Israel, Iran built up a secret espionage network inside the country, made up of more than 30 Israeli citizens, many of whom were approached with offers of money through anonymous messages on Telegram, The Guardian reported. Later, the Iranians raised the stakes, offering $150,000 to kill Netanyahu, Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar, or Defence Minister Yoav Gallant.According to prosecutors, Maman offered to arrange the job through underworld contacts but demanded $1 million. The Iranians changed their demand, offering $400,000 to kill former PM Naftali Bennett instead. Talks collapsed, and Maman was eventually arrested in Tel Aviv. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for unauthorised entry into an enemy state and contact with a foreign agent. His lawyer claims he only pretended to go along with the plan out of fear and had no idea he was entering Iran during the initial trip.

This comes a day after state media reported that Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has granted final approval to a law to suspend cooperation with the IAEA. "Masoud Pezeshkian promulgated the law suspending cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency," state TV said. This further follows after the recent US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities including Esfahan, Fordow, and Natanz, during its 12-day war with Iran. The Iranian foreign minister in his post stressed that the "reality" is, "To Iranians, what truly "sends a devastating message" and destroys "a diplomatic solution" is very obvious."Targeting Germany for its support to Israel during the war, Araghchi continued, "Germany's explicit support for Israel's unlawful attack on Iran, including safeguarded nuclear sites, as "dirty work" carried out on behalf of the West.He added that Germany also shamefully supported the unlawful US attack against Iranian nuclear facilities, which "violated international law, the NPT, and the UN Charter."The foreign minister continued, "Germany's repudiation of its JCPOA commitments by openly demanding "zero enrichment" in Iran."Araghchi responded to the German Foreign Office's post which they shared on Wednesday, stating, "Iran's decision to suspend cooperation with @iaeaorg sends a devastating message: it eliminates any possibility of international oversight of the Iranian nuclear program, which is crucial for a diplomatic solution. #Iran must reverse this decision."Araghchi lambasted that Iranians were already put off by "Germany's Nazi-style backing of Genocide in Gaza, and its support for Sadam’s war on Iran" by providing materials for chemical weapons. He continued to slam Germany for supporting Iran, and said that the explicit German support for the bombing of Iran has "obliterated the notion that the German regime harbors anything but malice towards Iranians."

Since the start of the Israel-Iran war, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been making bold remarks against the US and President Donald Trump as America joined Israel in attacking Iranian nuclear facilities, including Fordow, Isfahan and Natanz, with an aim to destroy Iran's capability of building nuclear weapons. In the first week of the war, Iranian Leader Khamenei issued a grave warning to the US on June 18, telling them that the country would suffer "irreparable damage" if it engaged in any military actions against Iran.
'Irreparable damage'
“The Americans should know that any U.S. military intervention will undoubtedly be accompanied by irreparable damage,” Khamenei said in a televised address. He added that the damage it will face will be "far greater" than any harm that Iran may encounter. He further said that the Iranian nation is not frightened by Trump's threats."The US President threatens us. With his absurd rhetoric, he demands that the Iranian people surrender to him. They should make threats against those who are afraid of being threatened," he said.
Four-word reply to Trump's warning
On the same day, Khamenei issued a strong response to the threats from the US. Trump demanded "unconditional surrender" from Iran, but Khamenei responded with four words - "Iran will not surrender".“Intelligent people who know Iran, the Iranian nation, and its history will never speak to this nation in threatening language because the Iranian nation will not surrender,” Khamenei said in a message read aloud on national TV.After the US attacked Iran's nuclear sites, Khamenei vowed punishment for Israel, saying that the punishment would continue. "The Zionist enemy has made a big mistake, committed a big crime; it must be punished and it is being punished; it is being punished right now.”On Tuesday, Khamenei issued another remark against the US after its attack on Iranian nuclear facilities. He said, "We didn't harm anyone. And we will not accept any harassment from anyone under any circumstances.” Sharing an image of a burning US flag amid a war-like situation, “…we will not submit to anyone's harassment; This is the logic of the Iranian nation,” he added.
'US will pay a heavy price'
Today (Thursday), after the two countries agreed to a ceasefire after Trump's announcement, Khamenei again warned the US that an attack similar to what happened to Al-Udeid Air Base can be repeated in the future too.He said that Iran attacked and inflicted damage on the Al-Udeid Air Base, which is one of the key US bases in the region. Such an action "can be repeated in the future too, and America will definitely pay a heavy price, he said."The fact that the Islamic Republic has access to key US centers in the region and can take action whenever it deems necessary is a significant matter. Should any aggression occur, the enemy will definitely pay a heavy price," Khamenei said.
'Heavy slap to US's face'
The Iranian leader said that Iran delivered a "heavy slap to the US's face", adding that America gained no achievement from this war."The Islamic Republic delivered a heavy slap to the US’s face. 'Turned your leaders into dust': Israeli agents THREATENED Iranian general to flee or get killed - Here's what leaked audio reveal

Israel which began launching missiles in Iran under Operation Rising Lion last week has turned into a full-blown war now, with Iran retaliating with its full power. As Israel killed several Iranian top military officials and nuclear scientists, this scenario reminds of Mossad's mission to kill Iraq President Saddam Hussein in the 1990s.Operation Bramble Bush, an Israel's Mossad operation to assassinate Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was launched in 1992. However, the operation failed, leading to the killing of Israel's own soldiers.
Here's what happened
After the 1991 Gulf war, Israel viewed Saddam as a dangerous threat to nation. Israel had to deal with multiple Scud missile attacks from Iraq when though it wasn't even a part of the war.According to Intelligence, Saddam was developing weapons of mass destruction. The Israeli military aimed to eliminate the threat and came up with a mission to assassinate Saddam at a public event. The Israeli mission was codenamed "Operation Bramble Bush" and was carried out by Israel's most elite commando unit, Sayeret Matkal. The IDF's top brass approved the operation, while Mossad provided the intelligence.Saddam was expected to attend a funeral in his hometown Tikrit. As per the mission, the Israeli commandos would infiltrate the area and launch shoulder-fired missiles at Saddam's convoy during the ceremony.
Tze'elim Bet disaster
On November 5, 1992, Sayeret Matkal conducted a live-fire rehearsal in the Negev Desert. As they were imitating the real attack, they used live missiles, assuming that safety measures were foolproof. However, turned out, that wasn't the case.As they simulated, one of the operatives mistakenly fired a real missile at his own team, killing five elite soldiers and severely injuring six others. Though they have not so far led to a radiological release affecting the public, there is a danger this could occur, the statement read.Continuing about Bushehr, in a worst case, both scenarios would require protective actions, including evacuations and sheltering of the population or the need to take stable iodine, "with the reach extending to distances from a few to several hundred kilometres."Moreover, radiation monitoring would need to cover distances of several hundred kilometres and food restrictions may need to be implemented.Grossi further called on maximum restraint, saying that the military escalation threatens lives and delays indispensable work towards a diplomatic solution for the long-term assurance that Iran does not acquire a nuclear weapon."The IAEA, just as has been the case with the military conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, will not stand idle during this conflict," he added.

1,000 kg nuclear bombshell: Why attack on Iran’s Bushehr plant could trigger catastrophic fallout

Since Israel began attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has been closely monitoring the situation at those sites. In a statement to the United Nations Security Council, the agency detailed the current situation at Iran's nuclear sites.
Natanz nuclear facility
Starting with the Natanz enrichment site, the agency stressed that the first facility at Natanz, its main Fuel Enrichment Plant, was attacked on June 13 when Israeli attacks targeted and destroyed electricity infrastructure at the facility, including an electrical sub-station, the main electric power supply building and emergency power supply and back-up generators.Coming to the second facility, is the Pilot Fuel Enrichment Plant, "the above-ground part was functionally destroyed and the strikes on the underground cascade halls were seriously damaging."It added that within the Natanz facility, there is both radiological and chemical contamination. "It is possible that Uranium isotopes contained in Uranium Hexafluoride, Uranyl Fluoride and Hydrogen Fluoride are dispersed inside the facility."The radiation poses a "significant danger" if inhaled or ingested, and this risk can be effectively managed with appropriate protective measures.
Fordow nuclear facility
It is Iran's main enrichment location for enriching uranium to 60 per cent. The agency said that it is now aware of any damage at Fordow this time.
Esfahan nuclear facility
At the Esfahan site, four buildings were damaged last week, including the central chemical laboratory, a uranium conversion plant, the Tehran reactor-fuel manufacturing plant, and the enriched uranium metal processing facility. "No increase of off-site radiation levels was reported."
Khondab Heavy Water Research Reactor
On June 19, Israeli attacks hit the Khondab water reactor in Arak, which was under construction."As the reactor was not operational and did not contain any nuclear material, no radiological consequence is 6 expected," the statement read.
Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant
At Bushehr, the consequences of an attack could be "most serious", the IAEA statement read, stressing that it is an operating nuclear power plant and hosts thousands of kilograms of nuclear material." Moreover, government spokesperson Fatemah Mohajerani said that the Iranians can seek shelter in mosques, schools and subway systems during Israeli attacks. Iran doesn't have bomb shelters - Here's how it is planning to protect civilians against Israel's attack

Amid the escalating tensions in the Middle East between Iran and Israel, Israel Defence Force (IDF) Spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin confirmed on Sunday (June 15) that the Israeli Air Force conducted an airstrike in Yemen overnight. The strike’s target in Yemen was Muhammad Al-Ghamari, the military chief of staff of the Houthi forces, the Israeli officials said. After decades of warnings against the nuclear program, Israel attacked Iran on Friday morning, launching Operation Rising Lion as it strike Tehran's nuclear sites, military facilities, missile bases, as well as senior leadership. As it launched strikes, Israel announced a domestic state of emergency as the country braces for possible retaliation from Iran. Israel attacked several sites while eliminating top military officials, including the chief of Iran's revolutionary guards. Which nuclear sites were attacked? One of the sites, that was attacked by Israel was the "Natanz enrichment site", Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Iranian state TV confirmed. Natanz enrichment site is one of the two underground nuclear sites in Iran, while the other is Fordo. It is located about 225 km (140 miles) south of the capital, according to Iranian state media. “The IAEA is closely monitoring the deeply concerning situation in Iran. The agency can confirm Natanz site among targets,” Rafael Grossi, chief of the UN nuclear watchdog, said in a post on the agency’s X account. Israeli military hit the Natanz enrichment site "several times", state TV reported following the attack. It further showed footage of heavy smoke billowing from the site. Moreover, Israel’s Mossad spy agency carried out a series of covert sabotage operations "deep" inside Iran against their air defences and missile facilities, Axios reporter told CNN, citing an unnamed senior Israeli official. According to Nuclear Threat Initiative, International Atomic Energy Agency, Iran has several nuclear facilities, including three research facilities in Bonab, Fordow and Tehran, one Uranium enrichment plant in Natanz, two Uranium conversion plant in Arak and Isfahan, and two Uranium mines in Saghdad and Bandar Abbas and a nuclear power plant in Bushehr. List of officials eliminated Hossein Salami, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Chief, was killed in Israel's ‘preemptive strike’ on Iran on early Friday, according to Iranian state media. Chief of Iran’s military, Mohammad Bagheri was also eliminated, according to Iran's semi-official Fars news agency. “We can now confirm that the Chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Commander of the IRGC and the Commander of Iran’s Emergency Command were all eliminated in the Israeli strikes across Iran by more than 200 fighter jets. These are three ruthless mass murderers with international blood on their hands. The world is a better place without them,” the Israeli Defence Forces said in a post on X. Moreover, top advisor to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Shamkhani was also injured in an Israeli strike on his residence in Tehran, Iran said. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu also confirmed that the Israeli attack targeted Iran's leading nuclear scientists who were working on the Iranian bomb.
