Kanye West aka Ye is once again stirring the pot with his latest footwear creation. The recent launch of his YZY POD shoes has sparked a storm of criticism, with fans aiming at the shoe’s striking resemblance to socks and its high price tag.

In a social media announcement, West introduced the YZY POD as the "foldable future of footwear," with a pre-sale price tag of $200, urging fans to "accept no imitations." However, this bold move was met with sharp backlash from fans.

"YE $200 for a sock is crazy," said one user, while others humorously questioned whether the price was for a single sock or a pair.

"Who is paying [$200] for a pair of socks lol," another wrote.

Criticism also extended to the unconventional sizing offered by West, featuring sizes 1, 2, and 3 for the "foldable" shoes, leaving consumers baffled and seeking clarification on how these sizes corresponded to standard measurements.

"What does size 1 2 3 mean?," a fan inquired, with another netizen tweeting, "I was deada** gonna order a pair but I need to know how the sizes work. Please break it down bru."

Meanwhile, former YEEZY lawyer and Sneaker Law professor, Kenneth Anand, spoke to Page Six and defended West's pricing strategy, highlighting the costs associated with producing quality independent brand products. Anand suggested that West's pricing might actually be more reasonable compared to similar offerings from luxury brands like Vetements and Balenciaga, which retail at significantly higher prices.

"People who are criticizing the price on the Yeezy sock shoes may not understand the high cost of making quality products, especially for independent brands," Kenneth Anand stated.

"By comparison, luxury brands Vetements and Balenciaga are both selling extremely similar, if not identical, sock shoes; the Yeezy models are cheaper by about $400 or more, so arguably Kanye could have raised his price."

This is West's first product drop since Adidas terminated his contract in October 2022 because of his antisemitic remarks.
This decision marks a departure from the UK's usual secrecy around its Eurovision plans, usually unveiled in the new year. Last year's entrant, Mae Muller, secured a modest position, while Sweden emerged victorious as Swedish singer and songwriter Loreen bagged the top spot.

The anticipated collaboration between Ye aka Kanye West and Nicki Minaj for West and Ty Dolla $ign's upcoming album, Vultures, has hit a snag.

Reports suggest that the delay in the album's release has been caused by Minaj withholding approval for her verse in the song "New Body".

In a recently surfaced viral video, West can be seen expressing frustration over Minaj's refusal to grant permission for her verse. This has sparked a division among fans, igniting heated debates online regarding who might be at fault in this situation.

"I made that girl rewrite her verse three times for ‘Monster’. I supported her career. So I don’t know what it is. But we going to get this or we just ain’t going to push it," Kanye is seen saying in the viral video.

Kanye West speaks on Nicki Minaj not clearing “New Body”: "I had that girl redo her verse for "Monster" three times. I helped her in her career. Thus, I'm not sure what it is. pic.twitter.com/LKINY988rh — errolsam (@errolsam) December 16, 2023 The extended-play Vultures album features contributions from various artists, including Freddie Gibbs, Playboi Carti, Future, and James Blake. Earlier this week, Minaj seemingly declined to approve her verse, stating, "Child, that train has left the station, OK? No disrespect in any way, I just put out a brand new album." Minaj's response came after West shared a screenshot of a text message he sent to her, seeking approval for the track. The text read, "Hi it’s ye, May I Call you about clearing new body on the album.". Kanye West calls out Nicki Minaj for refusing to clear 'New Body'

Ye, who was formerly known as Kanye West, recently took to social media to publically request Nicki Minaj to clear the "New Body" song for his collaborative album, Vultures, with Ty Dolla Sign. The controversial rapper, who remained in the news for his anti-semitic remarks throughout the year, shared a screengrab of a text he had sent to Minaj, which read, "Hi it’s ye, May I Call you about clearing new body on the album."

However, it seems that Minaj is in no mood to respond or entertain the request. The Trinidadian rapper took to her Instagram Live to address Ye's request, explaining, "That train has left the station. No disrespect in any way. I just put out a new album, why would I put out a song that has been out for 3 years?"

For those unaware, the song leaked years ago and it was initially made for Ye's shelved 2019 album Yandhi. This week, during a live listening session at Miami’s Wynwood Marketplace, Ye previewed the song alongside other tracks from the forthcoming album.

Joe Manganiello, who filed for divorce from Sofía Vergara after seven years of marriage in July, has decided to make things official with his new ladylove and actor Caitlin O’Connor. The True Blood star was spotted on the red carpet at the Children of Armenia Fund Gala at Cipriani in New York City on Saturday evening. He was joined by none other than his new love interest Caitlin. The duo were seen happily posing on the red carpet and smiling for the paps. While Joe was seen donning a black suit, black tie and a blue shirt, Caitlin opted for an emerald green gown that had a corseted bodice and a high slit. The actress paired her gorgeous dress with a pair of diamond-embedded stilettos and stunning earrings. According to reports, the two started dating each other in September. They reportedly met at an unofficial after-party of Winning Time, which starred Caitlin as Dyan Cannon.
Renowned singer Sia, 47, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday to share details about her latest liposuction procedure. Highlighting the importance of transparency, Sia revealed that she had to undergo the procedure due to the effects of some medication that caused significant weight gain.

"Had to take a medication that made me put on a lot of weight that I just can’t shift with exercise or thyroid meds so I went in for lipo today. Please know that I am so lucky to have the resources to change the way I look and that when you see me looking crazy foxy again that I want you to know it did not come from diet and exercise," Sia wrote in her post, expressing gratitude for having the resources to modify her appearance but emphasised that her future look should not be attributed solely to diet and exercise.

Sia further explained, "I want to be truthful about all of my procedures so I don't contribute to the system that tells us we aren't enough. I am insecure like most people, and being in the public eye gives me anxiety, so I've made the choice to alter my appearance for my own confidence issues."

The artist, known for her candour, did not disclose the specific area where the liposuction was performed but underscored her commitment to honesty in discussing her personal journey.

In a strategic move that has been long-anticipated, pop sensation Ariana Grande has officially joined forces with Brandon Creed and his recently established Good World Management firm, according to sources close to the matter.

This announcement comes on the heels of Grande's separation from longtime manager Scooter Braun, who had been guiding her career since the debut of her first album a decade ago, with a brief hiatus in 2017. While representatives for Grande, Creed, and Braun have refrained from commenting, Billboard was the first to report this significant development.

Grande's decision to join Good World Management places her among an impressive roster of artists, including Demi Lovato, Troye Sivan, Charli XCX, Orville Peck, Mark Ronson, and Normani.
