MS Dhoni had almost done it but fell just one run short as Chennai lost to Bangalore by a margin of one run, when the skipper had already hit 24 in the first five balls of the last over.
Dhoni smashed several boundaries in the last over of Bangalore's Umesh Yadav to almost win the game but failed to touch the last ball and lost.
Dhoni scored 84 off 48 balls as he took the contest to the very last ball as Chennai needed 26 runs in the final over.
With two runs needed off the final ball, Dhoni was beaten by Umesh Yadav and Parthiv Patel struck the stumps before Shardul Thakur could complete the single to win it for Bangalore.
Twitter was also full of praise for MS Dhoni's super effort and criticised Umesh Yadav's bowling.
