India shooterArjun Babuta missed a medal men's 10m air rifle event on Monday (Jul 29) at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024 by the barestmargin of 1.4points. India still has only one medal at the Paris Games, thanks toManu Bhaker's historic bronze in women's 10m air pistol event on Sunday (Jul 28).

Babuta finished fourth with a total score of 208.4 after 20 shots while third-placed Victor Lindgren of Sweden finished with 209.3 points. The Swedish shooter had reached to 209.3 after his last shot of 10.0 and Arjun needed 10.4 or more to stay in contention but managed only 9.5 points on the final shot. China's 19-year-old Sheng Lihao went on to win the gold in the event with the total score of 252.2 - an new Olympic record as well. Sheng went was USA's William Shaner who had scored 251.6 at Tokyo Olympics in the same event.
Swedish Lindgren managed to win the silver while Croatia's Miran Maricic won the bronze medal.
