India enters men's hockey semis at Paris Olympics 2024
India men's hockey team beat Great Britain 4-2 in the shootout on Sunday (Jul 4) to reach semis at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. India goalkepper PR Sreejesh displayed exemplary skills to save attempts from the Brits, while the Indians scored on all four attempts.
For India, skipper Harmanpreet was first to score, equalising GBR player James Albery's opening goal in the shootout. Zachary Wallace was the next to scorefor the Brits but India's Sukhjeet Singh scored the equaliser.

With the shootout score being tied at 2-2, Britain's Conor Williamson missed on the third attempt unlike India's Lalit Kumar Upadhyay who gave Indiaa 3-2 lead.
Britain's Phil Roper took the fourth shot but couldn't score, thanks to some brilliant keeping by Sreejesh. India's Raj Kumar Pal then scored on the fourth attempt to hand India a famous win.

Great Britain's Morton Leescored the equaliser nearly five minutes later in the same quarter, and the score remained 1-1 for the remainderof the game.
India will next play the winner of Argentina vs Germany in the semi-final on Tuesday (Aug6).
