Paris, France

Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique has commented on the multiple talks going on around the way the club is treating Kylian Mbappe. Notably, the Frenchman was seen angry at being withdrawn in the 65th minute against Marseille. Mbappe, who has confirmed his desire to leave PSG in February, was taken off by Enrique despite the striker’s desire to continue playing. The situation has not gone down well within the camp and Enrique thinks the media’s questioning on the issue is becoming more “boring” and he wants to concentrate on upcoming matches, including a Champions League tie against former side Barcelona.

Enrique calls Mbappe's treatment questioning boring

"It's the same music, every single week. It's so boring," he said on the Amazon Prime Video broadcast after the result.

"I am the manager. I make decisions every day, every week. I am going to the same until my last day in Paris.

In the 65th minute of the Marseille game, Mbappe was substituted in the match while PSG were leading 2-0. Goncalo Ramos came on for him and an angry Mbappe was seen discontent with the manager’s decision.

However, according to Enrique, he still made the right decision to substitute Mbappe as the club has more important matches to play in the coming days. PSG are set to play Barcelona in the Champions League quarterfinal next week with a potential tie against Atletico Madrid or Borussia Dortmund in the semis. Enrique also thinks that Mbappe could still change his mind and sign a long-term contract with PSG.

While nothing is official yet, it is expected that Mbappe will complete his much-awaited move to Real Madrid in the summer where he will link with Carlo Ancelotti and others. It is reported that he has taken a pay cut to make the switch and will earn less than Jude Bellingham who came from Borussia Dortmund last season.
