We are halfway into IPL 2024, and two teams with immense potential – Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans, are yet to break into the top-four picture despite coming close to winning a few times this season. Coming into this game with a hat-trick of losses at home, the hosts Punjab Kings will aim to turn the tables around, while Gujarat, with the balanced squad at the helm, has plenty to prove. Here is the match preview and result prediction of match 37 of IPL 2024 between PBKS and GT.

Punjab Kings have shown promise, with two lesser-known hitters, Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma, leading the way with some almost match-winning knocks in the past few outings.
While Shikhar Dhawan’s absence at the top continues to hamper their balance, with the stand-in captain Sam Curran filling in for him, PBKS needs to sort its middle-order woes before getting considered for a top-four finish.
However, Punjab’s bowling has somewhat improved, with Harshal Patel returning to the wickets column, while Arshdeep Singh, with the new ball in hand, is yet to dominate the batters like before. Harpreet Brar has been making the right noises in the spin-bowling department, while the home team will depend a bit on Liam Livingstone’s spin to get the job done during the middle overs.

On the other hand, the touring Gujarat Titans team have a lot at stake heading into the second half of this tournament. Being the most successful team in the past two years, including winning once and reaching the final the following year, GT has struggled to get going this season.
Although the change in the leadership has less to do with the results, Gujarat needs to click as a unit to return to its former winning ways.
Captain Shubman Gill will have a lot riding on his shoulders, while the onus would fall on the lower middle order to strike gold in this game.
