IPL 2024: Kuldeep Yadav with DC captain Rishabh Pant
The usually calm and collected Delhi Capitals wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav lost his cool momentarily during the match against Gujarat Titans at the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday (Apr 18). Kuldeep got angry at DC teammate Mukesh Kumar after the latter fired an unnecessary throw that could resulted in an overthrow.
The incident took place during the eighth over of the innings when Kuldeep was summoned into the attack for the first time by skipper Rishabh Pant. GT's Rahul Tewatia on strike nurdled a ball to backward point and hesitantly called for a single. Miller on the other end obliged before changing his mind and sharing back to the crease.
Mukesh sought this as a half-opportunity and took a shy at the stumps. Pant could also be heard yelling on the stump mic, "Maar (hit)", as Mukesh hurtled a full-blooded throw in the direction of Kuldeep who was standing in front of the wickets and failed to collect it cleanly.
An irate Kuldeep shouted:"Paagal vaagal hai kya (Areyou mad)?" as Pant ran towards him and calmed him saying: "Gussa nahi, gussa nahi (Don't get angry)."

Delhi flatten Gujarat
Delhi coasted to victory against the 2022 champions by skittling them on a meagre total of 89. Bowling first, the DC bowlers utilised the conditions to full effect and managed to pick up four wickets within the powerplay phase.
Ishant Sharma and Mukesh led the lines brilliantly while Khaleel Ahmed, Tristan Stubbs and Axar Patel also chipped in with crucial wickets. As for GT, barring Rashid Khan's 24-ball 31-run innings, none of the other batters could get going and fell one after another.
Chasing the modest target, DC made no fuss and knocked down the deficit in 9 overs with skipper Pant staying seeing the game through.
"Lots of things to be pleased about. We talked about the champion thought process and our team showed today that we can play like that and really happy to see that. [on the bowling] Definitely one of the best, it's early on in the tournament, can't say much as we can improve individually," said Pant after the match.
