Rohit Sharma, the skipper Mumbai team was fined 15 per cent of his match fees for breaching the Indian Premier League's (IPL) code of conduct during his team's 34-run defeat to Kolkata at the Eden Garden stadium.
Rohit Sharma hit the stumps with his bat following his dismissal in a highly charged contest against Dinesh Karthik-led Kolkata on Sunday.
The India batsman smashed three boundaries before being adjudged lbw in Mumbai's mammoth chase of 233 and vented his frustration on the stumps at the non-striker's end.
Sharma admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.2 of the IPL's Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction.
Sharma, who has led Mumbai to three IPL titles, believed he had edged the incoming delivery from paceman Harry Gurney and reviewed the umpire's call.
