Sources in the BCCI have said India will not play Pakistan at the cricket World Cup if the government does not want them to.

The World Cup begins May 30 and will carry on till July 14. India are scheduled to play Pakistan on June 16.

The sources said the "situation will get clearer after some time, a little closer to the World Cup. If the government at that point in time feels we shouldn't play, it's obvious that we won't play."

The sources, however, added that India refusing to play Pakistan would mean Pakistan walking away with the points of an India-Pakistan match.
