Pakistan's Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem has constantly been showered upon with prizes after his historic performance in the recently-concluded Paris Games 2024. The latest in the list of awards is PKR 10 crore and a Honda Civic car.
Punjab Province Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited the Olympian's home in Mian Channu (Khanewal), Punjab and awarded him with the gift. The car gifted by the CM also has a special number.

Nadeem threw the javelin for 92.97 metres to win the gold and the same has been put up as the car registration number, posted governing coalition party PML-N on its official X handle.

Earlier, the government of Pakistan also announced the country's second-highest civil award Hilal–i-Imtiaz for Nadeem after winning the country's first Olympic gold medal.
The award to Nadeem was announced by Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari ina statement on Saturday (Aug 10).
The Olympian was also given a hero's welcome upon his arrival in Pakistan post winning the country's first individual gold medal.
"I reached my country and I saw the love of our people in my town. I am thankful to all the people who have showered me with this love which is more than medal. I am also thankful for such a welcome," Nadeemtold WION's Anas Mallick in a chat.
"Struggle is part of every athlete's life, be it me or Neeraj. He also had blessings and I also had blessings. I am very happy that we are the only two players from South Asia, who have performed all over the world," headded.
Nadeem's father-in-law Muhammad Nawaz gifted him a buffalo as a mark of respect.
"Nadeem also takes great pride in his roots and despite the success, his home still remains his village and he still lives with his parents and brothers," said Nawaz.
