2nd ODI: England defeat India by 86 runs, level series 1-1

India lost the second ODI to England after being all-out for mere 236 runs at Lord's London on Saturday. 

The Indian batsmen succumbed to English bowling attack while chasing a mammoth target of 323.

The chase for Men In Blue never seemed to get going and the hosts comfortable levelled the series with an 86-run victory. The win levelled the three-match series 1-1.

The credit of the win goes to Liam Plunkett's four-wicket haul and Joe Root's 113 runs.

India lost its first wicket at 49 in the form of Rohit Sharma. Later, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli tried to establish a partnership to achieve the target but Dhawan gave away his wicket minutes after Sharma.

It was then Suresh Raina and Kohli had lifted the Indian side a bit with both scoring 46 and 45 respectively, before losing their wickets.  

Wicketkeeper-Batsman MS Dhoni also made crucial 37 runs but failed to turn it into a win for his side. 

In bolwing, Kuldeep Yadav once again displayed his wrist spin magic and took three wickets in his 10 overs and gave away 68 runs.  

Earlier, England elected to bat in the second game against the Kohli-led side.  

Kuldeep Yadav's six-wicket-fer and Rohit Sharma unbeaten ton helped Men In Blue register their first victory in the three-match series.

England will aim to bounce back strong and save the series.

Talking about their strategy for today, skipper Eoin Morgan, "We are gonna have a bat first. (Will the wicket change much?) It can be difficult to tell, we'll get to know as the day progresses. It's a belting day. There was a bit of rain yesterday but still it's quite hard on top."

"The more we face him (Kuldeep) we'll get a clear idea of what he's bowling. We'll only find a way over time. Hopefully we'll stick to our plans and get better from here. We need to stick to our strengths and need to learn as we go along. No changes, we got the same team," he added.

India are riding high after clinching T20 series and first ODI. Talking about their plans for today, Kohli said, "We were looking to bowl first, we are pretty happy with it. We are pretty happy to chase. Containing them two times and having chased it. Lord's has always helped the seamers. We'll try to make the most of the two new balls. The spinners are doing a great job for us in the middle overs."

"The World Cup is too far ahead. We need to stick to the present and not worry about things too much. It's a test of our character and doing things right. We love coming here, it's a beautiful stadium. The weather is brilliant and the crowd has come out in numbers. If you complain at Lord's you can't play anywhere else. We are sticking to the same team," he added.
