The inauguration of a thrift store in Pakistan's Karachi took a chaotic turnas baton-wielding individuals stormed the venue, and looted it. According to reports on Saturday (Aug 31), the thrift store, named Dream Bazaar, announced a special discounton clothing, accessories, and homeware on its inauguration day.
A report by ARY News said that the opening of the store wasmarketed through social media platforms to attract public attention.
However, the opening of the mart did not go as planned. Thousands of people arrived at the store,caused significant damage to the property, and disrupted the inauguration event.

Videos shared on social mediaplatform X showed people forcibly breaking through the glass entrance, storming inside the store, and stealing items.
