Five police officials were killed and eight were injured in a third suicide bombing in Quetta on Tuesday evening, the Inter-Services Public Relations said.
A suicide bomber targeted a police van on Airport Road, martyring at least five policemen and injuring seven others, reports said.
As per reports, another explosion happened in Mina Gundi area close to the western bypass, targeting a Frontier Corps post.
The military’s media wing said that three suicide bombers attempted to attack the FC post. However, the attack was foiled by the personnel deployed at the check post, killing two attackers.
The Civil Defence DG has confirmed that all were suicide attacks. He said two suicide bombers loaded with 8 to 10 kilograms of explosives attacked the FC post.
There were also reports of intense gunfire in the wake of the explosions.
The injured security personnel have been shifted to CMH Quetta where two personnel are said to be in critical condition.
