Rajnath Singh to be chief minister of UP: Report

The Financial Express reported Thursday that "after five days of drama and speculation, BJP is set to name Rajnath Singh as the new Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh."

The report said the news had been confirmed by a "top BJP source".

It added that Dinesh Sharma and Siddharth Nath Singh had been the other two contenders for the post but that the party's leaders finally settled on Rajnath Singh for the post.

The FE report added that the top BJP source confirmed that the home ministry, currently headed by Rajnath Singh, will be given to Arun Jaitley.

And that Piyush Goyal, who is currently power minister, will take charge of the finance ministry.
