The content allegedly aimed to provoke public unrest and defame the officials.<h3>FIR under BNS, IT Act</h3>Maharashtra Cyber Police have registered the case under several provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.&nbsp;The FIR includes Sections 318(2), 336, 352, 353(1), 353(2), 356(1) and 356(2) of the BNS, along with Sections 66D and 67 of the Information Technology Act.&nbsp;Cyber officials have secured digital evidence as part of the investigation. These are sensitive to India. There is a wave of happiness across the country. New opportunities are opening up on a very large scale, especially for our farmers, artisans, and manufacturers.”&nbsp;"A $30 trillion economy is now open to our exporters. This joint statement gives every Indian citizen an opportunity for new hope, enthusiasm, and new resolutions. The 50 per cent tariff that Indian exporters faced will now be only 18 per cent. He pointed to the pressures India had been facing before the agreement. “There were a lot of challenges. India was facing 50% tariffs; farmers were suffering; marine exporters were worried. Until a few days ago, Opposition leaders also had been asking us when the deal would happen,” Goyal noted.&nbsp;“We hadn't been able to get this deal for months, but PM Modi used his friendship to seal such a great deal, which will immensely benefit India,” he added. Responding to concerns that agriculture and dairy interests may have been compromised, Goyal insisted otherwise. “PM Modi has always looked out for the agriculture and dairy sectors, and he ensured that nothing bad happens to them,” he said. “PM Modi ensured that India's sensitive sectors, agriculture and dairy, were safeguarded and given attention in the deal.” He further claimed that coastal communities had already reacted positively. “Fishermen who export seafood celebrated in all coastal regions after the deal. This is a sign of how this deal heralds a bright future for India,” Goyal said, adding that engineering, textiles, marine products, and gems and jewellery were also expected to gain.<h2>Goyal attacks Opposition</h2>The minister then launched a direct attack on Opposition leaders, singling out Rahul Gandhi. “Rahul Gandhi is a negative person. Donald Trump on Wednesday announced a 25 percent tariff for India for purchasing oil and weapons from Russia. "Today, the Commerce Minister made a non-statement on President Trump and the US tariff issue in both Houses of the Parliament. All he engaged in was misplaced self-congratulation. The real issues thrown up by the failure to clinch a trade deal with the US, the imposition of a 25% tariff on Indian imports by the US, and additional penalties for engaging in trade with Russia and Iran were hardly touched upon. The concerns and sentiments of Indian businesses were simply not addressed," Jairam Ramesh wrote on X. Jairam Ramesh wrote that India faced new and huge challenges with the United States. He also took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying his friendship with Trump proved to be "completely hollow". "It is abundantly clear that India faces new and huge challenges with the US now. Prime Minister Modi had banked on his much-vaunted personal friendship with President Trump. This has proved to be completely hollow," he added. Jairam Ramesh said the Indian economy has never really recovered from the twin shocks of a bizarre demonetization and a fundamentally flawed GST. "The growth rate of the Indian economy will simply not accelerate with current levels of private corporate investment and current levels of private consumption. The Modi government’s policies are responsible for this twin deficit," he added. Apprising the parliament about the US announcement of tariffs, Piyush Goyal said that his ministry is holding talks with exporters, industry leaders, and all stakeholders, seeking their assessment. He vowed that the government would safeguard India's national interests. "The government is examining the impact of the recent events. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is holding talks with exporters, industries, and all stakeholders and gathering information on their assessment of this issue. The government gives utmost priority to the safeguarding of the welfare of farmers, labourers, entrepreneurs, industrialists, exporters, MSMEs, and stakeholders of the industrial sector. We will take all necessary steps to safeguard our national interest," he added.
