Eight Afghan soldiers killed in border clash with Pakistani forces

Eight soldiers of the Afghan Taliban were killed and 16 others were injured during a clash with the Pakistani security forces, Pakistan's media reported on Monday (Sept 9).
The deceased Afghan Taliban soldiers included two key commanders of the group. Citing sources, a report by Dawn on Monday said that the Talibanattacked a Pakistani check-post with heavy weapons in the Palosin area on the Pak-Afghan border on Saturday.

There was no official word from the Pakistani military so far.This is the second time in as many days that the two countries have clashed over the construction of the disputed Afghan border outpost.
Pak, Afghanistan suspendtrade over weekend
Given the tense security situation, trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan remained suspended over the weekend. The Dawn report also saidthere was intermittent firing on the border on Sunday as well, but no casualties were reported.
In the past, Pakistan has shared its concerns with Kabul over the border clashes. Sources told Dawn that the Taliban, apart fromfacilitating militant activities inside Pakistan, were now openly attacking the military along the border.
