The evidence in this case clearly indicates the prosecutrix's willingness to accompany the respondent, and the physical relations were established with her consent.
Furthermore, the court observed that the MLC report of the prosecutrix does not support the prosecution's case, as there were no injuries indicating resistance to the sexual act. Consequently, it was determined that the relations between the prosecutrix and the appellant were consensual.

The Indian Air Force operates 36 French-origin Dassault Rafale fighter jets. Specifically developed for Rafale, the RBE2 is the first in-service European Active Electronically Scanned Array radar and has been combat proven on Rafale aircraft operated by the French Air Force and the French Navy. The T/R (transmit/receive) modules are key to the RBE2 radar&rsquo;s active electronic scanning performance, enabling it to steer the radar beam with the speed of an electronic chip.
In line with the Make in India policy, Indian Government firm Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has manufactured the 7,000th T/R (transmit/receive) module for the RBE2 radar on-board the Dassault Aviation Rafale, and delivered it to Thales. This Thales-BEL cooperation has been expanded with the start-of-the production of advanced technological microwave modules dedicated to the Rafale SPECTRA EW (Electronic Warfare) suite.

HAMMER is a French-origin medium-range air-to-surface weapon that is used against ground targets such as bunkers, hardened shelters. With a range of over 70 km, the system enables fighter aircraft to release the weapon from a relatively safe distance from enemy air defence systems. HAMMER can be integrated with bombs of varying sizes &ndash; 125 kg, 250 kg, 500 kg and 1000 kg. The swearing-in ceremony of the Delhi CM is scheduled to be held at Ram Leela Maidan on Thursday (Feb 20) at 11 am. The grand event is expected to witness musical performances ahead of the oath-taking ceremony.&nbsp;
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other senior leaders will attend the oath-taking ceremony. Moreover, all Union Ministers and NDA leaders have also been invited to attend the ceremony.

To ensure safety, only VVIP vehicles will be allowed entry.&nbsp;
The ceremony will be attended by about 30,000 guests.
Before the ceremony, a colourful musical programme will be held on the stage of Ram Leela Maidan.&nbsp;
Popular singer Kailash Kher will be performing at the ceremony.&nbsp;
More than 50 film stars, including Akshay Kumar, Vivek Oberoi, Hema Malini, and Kailash Kher will be present to witness the Delhi CM's swearing-in ceremony.&nbsp;

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday (Feb 19) announced the name of first-time MLA Rekha Gupta as the next Chief Minister of Delhi. The announcement was made after a meeting of the Legislature Party was held in the evening. Gupta, 50-year-old MLA from Shalimar Bagh constituency, defeated Aam Aadmi Party's leader Bandana Kumari in the recently held Assembly elections. A lawyer by profession, Gupta began her political career in 1992 when she joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Daulat Ram College, Delhi University. She became President of the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) in 1996-97.

Speaking to WION&rsquo;s Sidhant Sibal in Muscat on the sidelines of the Indian Ocean Conference, he said, &ldquo;We are going to have, perhaps, a Bangkok declaration adopted, which will define, for the first time, the BIMSTEC vision for the future. We will have a number of MOUs signed.&rdquo;

The group, which came into being in 1997, is seen as an alternative to the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), which remains inactive due to Pakistan&rsquo;s support for cross-border terrorism.
Sidhant Sibal: How important is the BIMSTEC grouping? Indra Mani Pandey: It is very important, because if you look at the Bay of Bengal, it plays a very important role in the Indian Ocean. And then, if you look at the collective strength of the seven countries, whether we look at their GDP, their population, their external trade, I think we are very important part of the world. When we look at the eastern part of the Indian Ocean, or the western part of the Indian Ocean, the Bay of Bengal lies in the centre, as India does. Since it&rsquo;s an organisation where India enjoys the preeminent position, BIMSTEC becomes very important.
Sidhant Sibal: Can we expect the summit this year? Any planning underway? Indra Mani Pandey: Actually, the summit has already been scheduled. So it will happen in Bangkok on 4th April, and there will be a ministerial meeting a day before that on 3rd April, the ground for which will be prepared by a meeting of senior officials on 2nd April. So the schedule has been finalised, and the summit is going to be held on 4th April.
Sidhant Sibal: And what will be the focus of the summit? Indra Mani Pandey: Of course, it will have its declaration. We are going to have, perhaps, a Bangkok declaration adopted, which will define, for the first time, the BIMSTEC vision for the future. We will have a number of MOUs signed. We&rsquo;ll have the report of the Eminent Persons group adopted, and then a lot of conversations will be there about the future of BIMSTEC. There is also a possibility that we might actually sign and adopt a very important agreement on maritime transport cooperation at this summit.

BIMSTEC Summit on 4th April, says SG Indra Mani Pandey

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday (Feb 19) hit back at West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee over her &ldquo;Mrityu Kumbh&rdquo; remarks on the Maha Kumbh stampede that killed 30 people.
CM Yogi called the allegations an attack on the faith of millions, saying that Maha Kumbh is not linked with any political party or organisation, but belongs to society. He added that over 562.5 million pilgrims had already taken a holy dip in Prayagraj.

&ldquo;This is 'Mrityu Kumbh'. I respect Maha Kumbh, and I respect the holy Ganga Maa. But there is no planning. How many people have been rescued? For the rich and VIPs, there are systems in place to get camps (tents) for as much as Rs 1 lakh. But for the poor, there are no arrangements at Kumbh,&rdquo; the West Bengal CM said.

Addressing the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Adityanath said, &ldquo;While we are participating in the discussion here, more than 56.25 crore devotees have already taken their holy dip in Prayagraj... When we make baseless allegations or show fake videos against Sanatan Dharma, Maa Ganga, India, or the Maha Kumbh, it is like playing with the faith of these 56 crore people... This event is not organised by any particular party or organisation. It belongs to society, and the government is there as a servant to fulfil its responsibilities.&rdquo;

The UP CM added that it was a privilege that his government could be associated with the religious event, which has gained international recognition despite &ldquo;false campaigns.&rdquo;

The country and the world have participated in this event and taken it to new heights of success, ignoring all false campaigns&hellip; Our sympathies are with all those who were victims of the stampede on January 29 and those who lost their lives in road accidents while travelling for Kumbh&hellip; The government stands with them and will help them in every possible way,&rdquo; he added.

The Information Department of India's Uttar Pradesh state said that more than 555.6 million people took a holy dip till February 18.&nbsp;

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) raised concerns as it referred to a report by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The report mentioned that the "river water quality was not conforming with the primary water quality for bathing with respect to Faecal Coliform (FC) at all the monitored locations on various occasions".&nbsp;
"A huge number of people taking a bath at Prayagraj during the Maha Kumbh Mela in the river, including on auspicious bathing days, eventually leads to an increase in faecal concentration," the CPCB report said.&nbsp;

As per the Environment Protection Amendment Rules of 2000, the CPCB prescribed that levels of faecal coliform should be no higher than 2500 MPN/100 ML for organised outdoor bathing.
The levels were 23,000 at Shringverpur Ghat and 33,000 at Deeha Ghat on January 13. The levels at Old Naini Bridge were 33,000 on January 14. On January 20, the numbers reached a peak of 49,000 at the Sangam, the report said.&nbsp;

Lamsal allegedly endured prolonged harassment by her boyfriend, Advik Srivastava, which ultimately led to her death.&nbsp;
According to a statement by the Police Commissionerate of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, a complaint was filed by Siddhant Sigdel, Lamsal's cousin and a fellow student at KIIT, alleging that Lamsal took her own life due to Srivastava's harassment.&nbsp;

KIIT student's death sends shockwaves in India and Nepal, sparks calls for justice

The newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs in Delhi are set to convene at 7 pm on Wednesday (Feb 19) to elect their legislative party leader, who will subsequently take the oath as chief minister on Thursday.
According to reports, the party is considering selecting the next Chief Minister from among the freshly elected MLAs, with a potential female candidate also in the running.
The oath-taking ceremony will be held at 11 am (IST) at Ramilila Maidan, Delhi, on Thursday (Feb 20). Lt Governor VK Saxena will administer the oath of office to the CM-designate and the cabinet at 12:35 pm.
The event will be held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, chief ministers from BJP-ruled states, NDA leaders, Union Ministers, and other prominent figures, news agency ANI reported citing a top party source.
Union Minister and BJP national president JP Nadda will also attend the swearing-in ceremony.

Speaking about the event, BJP MP Yogender Chandolia on Tuesday said the preparations are in full swing and continuous meetings are being held to finalise the arrangements.
"Preparations are in full swing at Ram Leela Maidan. Continued meetings are being held. A meeting regarding preparations is also being held. A large number of people will be participating (in the ceremony)," ANI quoted Chandolia as saying.

Delhi CM announcement: Will BJP select a female face? Party set to hold key meeting at 7 pm

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday (Feb 18) directed the state police to ask Wikipedia to remove "objectionable content" about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj from its platform.&nbsp;
In response, the Maharashtra Cyber Police issued a notice to Wikipedia. The authorities have also warned of legal action if the content is not taken down.
The move came after an editorial campaign by WION's sister channel 24 Taas.&nbsp;

"I have asked the Inspector General of Maharashtra cyber cell to communicate with Wikipedia officials and ask them to remove the objectionable matter against Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj," Fadnavis told reporters.&nbsp;

Srinagar: A godman and Imam of a mosque who sexually abused minor children for over three decades in North Kashmir&rsquo;s Sopore area has finally been convicted after a decade long legal battle. The local court convicted the infamous paedophile Ajaz Sheikh bringing relief to the hundreds of victims.
Sheikh misused the trust people had in the positions he held as an imam, teacher, and faith healer in the area. He exploited his position and sway to sexually abuse children for over 30 years and never got caught. There are thousands of victims of Sheikh&rsquo;s abuse in the district, and some of them have shared their horrific abuse tales.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Sopore Court&nbsp;on Tuesday sentenced the convict to 14 years of imprisonment, seven years each in two cases. He will also have to pay a fine of 50,000 rupees to each of the victims. The victims are also at liberty to approach authorities for compensation.

''The CJM sopore sentenced the accused to seven years of imprisonment each for two victims. In this case, the sentences will run consecutively, which will mean he will be in jail for 14 years and will have to pay a Rs 50000 fine to each of the victims,&rdquo; said Naila Noor, public prosecutor.
One of the victims in the case had revealed in court that he was raped over 500 times by the faith healer over a period of three years. He later developed some serious health issues. In some cases, the faith healer used to ask the minor children to engage in sexual acts while he would watch. Some of the victims were less than 10 years of age and were forced to do violent assaults.

It was during this time that he would sexually abuse them. I also became a victim of the same,&rdquo; said one of the victims.
The first FIR against Sheikh was filed on March 2, 2016. A chargesheet was produced against him in 2017, and since then the legal battle has been going on. The defence lawyers made their arguments in January this year. Over the course of time, the case saw many replacements; the judges were replaced six times, while the prosecutors were changed four times as well.

Srinagar: A godman and Imam of a mosque who sexually abused minor children for over three decades in North Kashmir’s Sopore area has finally been convicted after a decade long legal battle. The local court convicted the infamous paedophile Ajaz Sheikh bringing relief to the hundreds of victims. Sheikh misused the trust people had in the positions he held as an imam, teacher, and faith healer in the area. He exploited his position and sway to sexually abuse children for over 30 years and never got caught. There are thousands of victims of Sheikh’s abuse in the district, and some of them have shared their horrific abuse tales. The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Sopore Court on Tuesday sentenced the convict to 14 years of imprisonment, seven years each in two cases. He will also have to pay a fine of 50,000 rupees to each of the victims. The victims are also at liberty to approach authorities for compensation. In this case, the sentences will run consecutively, which will mean he will be in jail for 14 years and will have to pay a Rs 50000 fine to each of the victims,” said Naila Noor, public prosecutor. In some cases, the faith healer used to ask the minor children to engage in sexual acts while he would watch. Some of the victims were less than 10 years of age and were forced to do violent assaults. He would tell the parents that there is black magic in the family, and he would need the child below 12 years of age to stay with him as he would want them to speak to Djinn’s and heal them. It was during this time that he would sexually abuse them. I also became a victim of the same,” said one of the victims. The first FIR against Sheikh was filed on March 2, 2016. A chargesheet was produced against him in 2017, and since then the legal battle has been going on. The defence lawyers made their arguments in January this year. Over the course of time, the case saw many replacements; the judges were replaced six times, while the prosecutors were changed four times as well. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday (Feb 18) slammed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the stampede at Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj that had led to the loss of many lives.&nbsp;
CM Banerjee called the religious event Maha Kumbh a "Mrityu Kumbh" (Kumbh of death), while referring to the stampede that happened at the religious gathering.&nbsp;
She alleged that while VIPs were being given special privileges, the poor were being denied access to essential facilities.&nbsp;
"This is 'Mrityu Kumbh'. I respect Maha Kumbh, and I respect the holy Ganga Maa. But there is no planning. How many people have been rescued? For the rich and VIPs, there are systems in place to get camps (tents) for as much as Rs 1 lakh. But for the poor, there are no arrangements at Kumbh," the West Bengal CM said.&nbsp;

She took a jibe at the BJP government, accusing it of "selling religion to divide the nation".
The West Bengal CM further claimed that there has been a lack of proper planning for the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela.&nbsp;
"Why did you overhype such a serious event? Proper planning should have been in place. How many commissions have been sent to Kumbh after the incident?," she questioned.&nbsp;
This comes after RJD Chief and former Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav called Maha Kumbh "faaltu".&nbsp;

The Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, called Banerjee's statement an attack on Hindus, further urging people to register "a strong protest".&nbsp;
"I appeal to the Hindu community, saint community to register a strong protest. A little while ago, on the floor of the House, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that this is not Maha Kumbh but 'Mrityu Kumbh'. Raise your voice against this attack on Hindus, on Maha Kumbh. If you are a true Hindu, rise above politics and strongly oppose these words of Mamata Banerjee," Adhikari said.&nbsp;

‘Maha Kumbh has turned into Mrityu Kumbh’: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee attacks Yogi Adityanath government

Congress on Tuesday (Feb 18) raised concerns over the appointment of Gyanesh Kumar as the new Chief Election Commissioner, calling it a &ldquo;hastily-taken decision&rdquo; taken by the Centre to bypass the Supreme Court's scrutiny.
Kumar is the first CEC to be appointed under the Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service and Term of Office) Act, 2023, a new law on the appointment of the members of the Election Commission (EC).
His term will continue until January 26, 2029, following which the EC is expected to announce the next Lok Sabha election schedule.

<h2>&lsquo;Hasty midnight move&rsquo;</h2>
Shortly after the appointment, Congress general secretary K C Venugopal said that the decision was a &ldquo;hasty midnight move&rdquo; by the government to circumvent the Supreme Court's scrutiny.
&ldquo;This goes against the spirit of our Constitution, and what has been reiterated by the Supreme Court in many cases - for the electoral process to have sanctity, the CEC must be an impartial stakeholder,&rdquo; Venugopal wrote on X. &ldquo;The amended law removed the CJI from the CEC selection panel, and the government ought to have waited until the Supreme Court&rsquo;s hearing on 19th February before selecting the CEC.&rdquo;
&ldquo;Such egregious behaviour only confirms the doubts that many have expressed about how the ruling regime is destroying the electoral process and bending the rules for its benefit. Be it fake voter lists, schedules favouring the BJP, or concerns around EVM hacking&mdash;the government and the CECs it appoints are subject to deep suspicion because of such incidents,&rdquo; he said.

Congress leader Manickam Tagore also reacted to the appointment, saying democracy deserves better.
&ldquo;The Government&rsquo;s hasty midnight appointment of the new CEC undermines the spirit of our Constitution and free elections. As LoP Rahul Gandhi rightly said, this should&rsquo;ve waited for the SC hearing on February 19,&rdquo; he posted on X. &ldquo;Rushing it shows their intent to bypass scrutiny. Democracy deserves better.&rdquo;
Congress MP Pramod Tiwari also condemned the appointment.&nbsp;
&ldquo;... The formation of the selection committee for this matter has been challenged in the Supreme Court. The matter has also been accepted for hearing in the Supreme Court. In such a situation, what was the hurry that the appointment was made during this time? ... In a democracy, elections should not only be fair but should also appear to be fair ... This is a contempt of the Supreme Court and the basic spirit of the Constitution,&rdquo; Tiwari told ANI.
