On Friday, 9 May, the Gujarat government enforced blackouts across several villages near the Indo-Pak border. The Chief Minister&rsquo;s Office confirmed that villages in Santalpur taluka of Patan district were among the affected areas.
&ldquo;As a precautionary measure, a blackout has been imposed in the villages of bordering Santalpur taluka in Patan district. All the citizens are advised to stay away from rumours and follow the instructions issued by the administration from time to time,&rdquo; the CM&rsquo;s office posted on X.
In Banaskantha district, all villages in the Suigam and Vav talukas were also blacked out for the second consecutive day, while Bhuj airport remained shut.

&ldquo;In view of the recent incidents on the border, all Commissioners of Police and Superintendents of Police of Gujarat have been asked to get notification issued to ban flying of drones for the next 96 hours except for purposes of defence of the country and internal security,&rdquo; said a post from the Director General of Police, Gujarat.

A quadrotor unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UAV) designed for both autonomous and remote-controlled operations, Songar is extremely capable in asymmetric warfare and cross-border missions.
According to the information available on Asisguard's website, the drone comes in five variants, including one in non-lethal role.
All the five variants carry different weapons - 5.56 x 45 mm assault rifle, 2 x 40 mm grenade launcher, 6 x 40 drum-type grenade launcher, and 3 x 81 mm mortar gripper.
The system has the capability to operate within a mission radius of up to 5 km, and can broadcast real-time video too.
Songar was introduced in the Turkish Armed Forces in 2020, and since then its has been a potent weapon of war for them.

Pakistan launched about 300 to 400 drones last night in an attempt to target Indian military installations at 36 locations across Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Punjab but failed as they were thwarted by India’s air defence system. Rana, who was born in Pakistan, had also served in the army in the medical corps, after which he moved on to doing business in the US.

Pakistan launched about 300 to 400 drones in the failed late-night attacks targeting Indian military installations at 36 locations across Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Punjab, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi said in an MEA press briefing on Friday evening. The drones were sent to target various facilities, including those in Srinagar, Jaisalmer, and Pathankot. Pakistani drones were also sighted at the Siachen glacier base camp in Ladakh and in the Kutch area of Gujarat. &ldquo;One Pakistani armed unmanned aerial vehicle tried to target Bhatinda military station, but the attempt was foiled,&rdquo; said Wing Commander Vyomika Singh while addressing the media.&nbsp;
In retaliation to the attack, India launched armed drones at four air defence sites across Pakistan and disabled Pakistani air defence networks, including a Chinese-made HQ-9 system in Lahore, besides having shot down the drones and missiles, Col Qureshi said.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that the Kartarpur Corridor will remain suspended until further notice due to the prevailing security situation amid heightened tensions with Pakistan. Per the latest reports, a top DDCA official confirmed the development and informed the Delhi Police about it.&nbsp;
