India and Pakistan declared a ceasefire on Saturday (May 10) after four days of war following the Pahalgam terror attack. India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri in a press briefing confirmed that both the countries agreed to a truce with immediate effect from 17:00 hrs on May 10.
Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar too took to the micro-blogging site X and announced, "Pakistan and India have agreed to a ceasefire with immediate effect. Pakistan has always strived for peace and security in the region, without compromising on its sovereignty and territorial integrity!".
This came after US President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that India and Pakistan have agreed to a "full and immediate ceasefire."

However, it must be emphasized that the space launch mission taking place at this time is a mere coincidence. The PSLV rocket takes a little over a month to assemble, and it takes well over a year to build a satellite like EOS-09. At the Indian Spaceport, the preparations for this launch are said to have commenced in Mid-March, more than a month before the situation between India and Pakistan deteriorated.&nbsp;
India operates multiple satellites for strategic purposes, this includes the Cartosat series of satellites, the RISAT(Radar imaging satellites) series, EMISAT etc. In addition to this, there are large communication satellites such as GSAT-7 that caters to the Indian Navy and the GSAT-7A that caters to the Indian Air Force and Strategic Forces Command. In recent years, ISRO has been following a different naming convention where all earth-imaging satellites are referred to as 'EOS', which stands for Earth Observation Satellite. It must also be emphasized that all satellites equipped with a camera can be put to defence and civilian use. In total, India has about 55 satellites in orbit that serve various purposes.
Following the April 22nd Pahalgam terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, ISRO Chief Dr. V. Narayanan had cited the need for launching 100-150 satellites to keep a constant vigil over India's 7,500kms long coastline and 15,000kms long land borders. "Pakistan had accused Indian forces of damaging mosques. This is false and unsubstantiated. Let us put things straight, India is a secular country and our forces carry our Constitutional values. Indian military forces caused major damage to Pakistan's land and air capabilities. Indian military forces are fully prepared, vigilant and fully dedicated to defending India's security and sovereignty," she said.
"In the highest regard, our operations have been aimed exclusively at terrorist camps and facilities being used for anti-India activities. No religious sites have been targeted by the Indian Armed forces," she added.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi has come down heavily on Pakistan for its alleged support to terrorism against India, its economic mismanagement and reliance on foreign loans.
He called Pakistan a "threat to humankind", and urged global powers to ensure that its nuclear bombs are disarmed amid escalating tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad.
Owaisi also went on to call Pakistan "official beggars" after it secured a bailout package from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Speaking to news agency ANI, Owaisi said, "Ye official bheekmange hai (They are official beggars). They took a loan from the IMF of $1 billion. The IMF is giving the International Militant Fund to Pakistan. How did the USA, Germany, and Japan agree to this? This money will never be used to eradicate poverty or to ensure polio rates in Pakistan come down... it will be used for terrorist activities against India."
He also accused Pakistan of creating a divide between Hindus and Muslims in India and destabilise peace in the country.

‘Your social media feeds are under attack’: PIB warns netizens amid India-Pak tensions

Hours after Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri debunked Pakistan's claim of missile attack by India on Afghanistan by calling it &ldquo;ludicrous&rdquo;, Inayatullah Khawarizmi, a spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Defense spoke to Hurriyat Radio and strongly rejected the claim made by Islamabad.
While speaking to the radio channel Khawarizmi said that "there is no truth to such claims".
This is not the first time that Afghanistan has come out to addressed territorial issues involving Pakistan. Last year Khawarizmi had refused to recognise Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as part of Pakistan as Kabul &nbsp;launched strikes beyond the Durand Line, which it called "hypothetical".

Six other terrorists: Ibrahim Athar, Sunny Ahmed Qazi, Zahoor Ibrahim, Shahid Akhter, Sayed Shakir and Abdul Rauf were also involved with him in hijacking. Azhar also handled weapons training for JeM. &nbsp;
In 2002, the government handed over a list of 20 fugitives to Islamabad, and it had Yusuf's name, who is also identified as "Ustaad Ghouri".

Hafiz Muhammed Jameel, who was affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed and the eldest brother-in-law of Maulana Masood Azhar, has also been eliminated.
