Speaking on <a href="https://www.wionews.com/tags/operation-sindoor">Operation Sindoor</a>, Bharti revealed how the IAF targeted key terrorist and military infrastructure deep within Pakistan with calculated force and precision.
He said that after comprehensive target system analysis, the IAF was tasked with striking nine high-value targets, including the well-known terrorist training camps in&nbsp;<a href="https://www.wionews.com/tags/bahawalpur" rel="dofollow">Bahawalpur</a> and Muridke &mdash; both located deep inside Pakistani territory.
&ldquo;Of the nine designated targets, the Indian Air Force was assigned the notorious terrorist training camps in Bahawalpur and Muridke, both located deeper within Pakistani territory. The Air Marshal, while explaining how the '<a href="https://www.wionews.com/tags/operation-sindoor">Operation Sindoor</a>' was carried out, said that on the evening of May 7, the forces were confronted with a series of Pakistani unmanned aerial vehicle and small drone raids. "These came in waves over our civilian areas and military installations. All of them were successfully intercepted. While a few did manage to land, the damage they caused was minimal," said Bharti.
On the night of the May 8 and 9, beginning around 8:30 pm, a massive wave of drones, UAVs, and UCAVs was launched by the adversary, spanning from Srinagar to Nalya. "It was a coordinated mass raid conducted in relentless waves. However, due to our robust air defense preparedness, no damage occurred &mdash; neither to strategic targets nor to civilian areas," said Bharti.
"A decision was taken to strike where it would hurt and towards that in a swift, coordinated, calibrated attack, we stuck its Air bases, command centers, military infrastructure, air defence systems across the entire Western Front. The bases we stuck includes Chaklala, Rafiq, Rahim Yar Khan sending a clear message that aggression will not be tolerated. This was followed by strikes at Sargodha, Bhulari, and Jacobabad...We have the capability to target every system at these bases and more..." said Air Marshal AK Bharti.

The Indian Armed Forces in a joint press conference on Sunday said that on May 7, after the terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people, Indian air strikes on terror camps in Pakistan killed over hundred terrorists. In a late-night media briefing, Misri called upon Pakistan to take appropriate steps to address these violations and deal with the situation with &ldquo;seriousness and responsibility&rdquo;.

<h2>Has Pakistan violated the ceasefire previously?</h2>
On April 25, three days after the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistan Army reportedly initiated small-arms firing at various points along the Line of Control (LoC), particularly in the J&amp;K's Kupwara district. On May 7, India conducted Operation Sindoor hitting terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Pakistan then started shelling Indian villages across LoC. As many as 16 Indians including women and children lost their lives in these shellings.
<h2>Pakistan's violation of the ceasefire during the Kargil war</h2>
Pakistan violated the ceasefire during the Kargil War in May 1999. The LoC ceasefire agreement, which was part of the Simla Agreement of 1972, was breached when Pakistani soldiers and militants infiltrated Indian positions in the Kargil sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
The infiltration began in early May 1999, though planning and movement started earlier, around late 1998. When Indian soldiers vacated the strategic heights in the Dras, Kargil, and Batalik sectors in winter, Pakistani forces, disguised as militants, occupied the areas. India launched Operation Vijay to evict the intruders and successfully regained its position.

<h2>Complaint filed</h2>
An officer of Fort police station, where the complaint was filed, said that gold plating work was last performed two days ago, after which the remaining gold was secured in a locker.
According to temple executive officer Mahesh, all such activities are carried out under strict police supervision, and the materials are securely returned to the strongroom after use.
&ldquo;The workers were on leave for two days, and the work resumed on Saturday. That is when we found the gold rod with cadmium missing,&rdquo; Mahesh was quoted saying to New Indian Express.
He added that the item might have gone missing while being transported in a cloth bag to the Mandapam, where the work is being carried out.

India and Pakistan agreed to stop all firing and military action on land, air and sea on Saturday (May 10), said Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
"The DGMO (Director General of Military Operations) of Pakistan called the DGMO of India at 15.35 hours earlier this afternoon. It was agreed between them that both sides would stop all firing and military action on land, air and sea with effect from 1700 hours IST," Misri said in a press briefing.
The announcement came after the DGMO of Pakistan contacted the DGMO of India on Saturday afternoon.
However, hours after the decision was announced, Pakistan repeatedly violated the ceasefire &lsquo;arrangement&rsquo;.
"For the last few hours, there have been repeated violations of the understanding arrived at earlier this evening between the Directors General of Military Operations of India and Pakistan. This is a breach of the understanding arrived at earlier today. The armed forces are giving an adequate and appropriate response to these violations and we take very very serious note of these violations," Misri said.
"We call upon Pakistan to take appropriate steps to address these violations and deal with the situation with seriousness and responsibility. The armed forces are maintaining a strong vigil on the situation. They have been given instructions to deal strongly with any instances of repetition of the violations of the border along the International Border as well as the Line of Control," he added.

The DGMO officials hold the senior rank in the Indian Army, usually the Lieutenant General, who oversee all the military operations in India and along the country's borders.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, on Sunday (May 11), said that the Indian Army has brought justice to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack through 'Operation Sindoor'.
"...The anti-India &amp; terror organisations which attacked the crown of Bharat Mata (Kashmir) and erased the 'sindoor' from several families, Indian armed forces got justice for them through Operation Sindoor. So, the entire country is expressing gratitude to the Indian armed forces," the India defence minister said at the inauguration of the BrahMos Aerospace Integration and Testing Facility in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow.
"Operation Sindoor is not just a military operation but also the symbol of India's political, social and strategic willpower. This operation against terrorism was also the display of India's willpower and military power &amp; capability. We have shown that whenever India will take any action against terrorism, even the land beyond border won't be safe for terrorists and their leaders," he added.
He added that the Indian armed forces specifically targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan, avoiding civilian casualties.&nbsp;
In contrast, Pakistan's actions not only targeted civilian areas in India but also attempted to attack places of worship, including temples, gurdwaras, and churches.

On Saturday (May 10) evening, India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed that India and Pakistan have agreed to a ceasefire with immediate effect, starting at 1700 hrs the same day.
While announcing details of the ceasefire, Misri stressed India's "uncompromising stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations".

Today, instructions have been given on both sides to give effect to this understanding. The Directors General of Military Operations will talk again on the 12th of May at 1200 hours," announced Misri.

In a late evening press briefing, Vikram Misri reported that India held Pakistan responsible for violating the ceasefire agreement and said that the Indian Army is retaliating.
"An understanding was reached this evening between the DGMOs of India and Pakistan to stop the military action that was going on for the last few days. For the last few hours, this understanding is being violated by Pakistan."
"The Indian Army is retaliating and dealing with this border intrusion. This intrusion is extremely condemnable and Pakistan is responsible for it. We believe that Pakistan should understand this situation properly and take appropriate action immediately to stop this intrusion," he added.
<h2>4. Pakistan claims to be 'committed' to truce</h2>
Hours after India said that Pakistan violated the agreement, Pakistan's foreign ministry asked its troops on the ground to exercise restraint.

She added that the Indian Armed Forces damaged airfields across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
"Not only that, the Indian Armed Forces damaged Pakistan&rsquo;s airfields &mdash; Skardu, Jacobabad, Sargodha, and Bularika. In addition, Pakistan&rsquo;s air defence systems and radar systems were also made untenable in the airspace," she said.&nbsp;
Indian Armed Forces also caused such extensive damage to Pakistan's command and control centres, its military personnel and infrastructure that its defensive capabilities were totally destroyed.
