Karnataka chief minister and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy on Wednesday said that he had come to power in the state with the blessing Congress president Rahul Gandhi, news agency ANI reported.
Kumaraswamy made the statement while speaking at a meeting with the farmer leaders on farm loan waiter.
''Without the blessing of people, but only with the blessing of Rahul Gandhi, we've come to power. I'll convince Congress party, but I can only take the decision once they approve,'' he was quoted as saying by ANI.
Earlier on Sunday, he said that he had formed a coalition government with Congress because people had not given him a clear mandate.
He further said, "some people were alleging me that I said that I will never form the government with any of the parties support. It is true that in the past whatever we said that will not be applicable in the present political scenario and I formed the government in coalition with Congress because people of Karnataka did not give me a clear mandate that is why I'm in the debt to the Congress and not to the people of the state."
