Tripura Lok Sabha Elections Results 2024 Full Winners List: The northeastern Indian state of Tripura has two parliamentary constituencies, Tripura West and Tripura East, which held elections in two phases on April 19 and April 26.
This election saw a contest between the ruling BJP-led NDA and the INDIA bloc's Congress and CPI(M). The regional party TIPRA Motha allied with the BJP. The BJPnominated former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb for the West Tripura seat and 'Maharani' Kriti Singh Debbarma for the Tripura East (ST) seat.
CPI(M) and Congress worked together under a seat-sharing arrangement. On the other side, CPI(M) fielded Rajendra Reang for Tripura East, while Congress nominated Ashish Kumar Saha for Tripura West.
Voter turnout was 82.52 per centin the West Tripura constituency during the first phase and 80.32 per cent in the East Tripura constituency during the second phase. Both constituencies, West Tripura and East Tripura (ST reserved), include 30 Assembly seats each.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP candidates Rebati Tripura and Pratima Bhoumik won in their respective constituencies. For the 2024 elections, the BJP has decided to introduce new candidates. Pratima Bhoumik was appointed Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, marking the first time a Tripura resident has served in the union cabinet.
