Son of former Pak PoW from Afghanistan adjudged best foreign cadet by Indian Military Academy, Dehradun

Lt, Sherzad  Sarbaz, son of Colonel Sher Mohd who was held as Prisoner of War (PoW) in Pakistan for months, was adjudged best foreign cadet from 77 Cadets from friendly foreign countries and awarded Silver Medal by Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun. 

Sarbaz graduated from IMA, Dehradun on June 8, 2019.


Sarbaz said his father is his inspiration and claims to speak better Hindi than his colleagues from the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Indian Military Academy (IMA). 

He will now return to his country (Afghanistan) to take on enemies in the country.

Sarbaz has been adjudged the Best Foreign Cadet. Afghan contingent was mentored and groomed by their former Indian Defence Advisor and Military Attach Brigadier Sujit Narain in Kabul.
