Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav was convicted in a Rs 5 crore loan recovery case along with his wife. The court held him guilty in the case and has set April 23 as the date of his sentencing. This order was given in the Karkardooma court.
The loan was taken from a Delhi based businessman MGAggarwal for his debut movie 'Ata Pata Lapata' in 2010.
Yadav was remanded to a 10-day judicial custody in 2013 for concealing facts about the case. The court had then ordered attachment of assets of the couple and attached his bank account with the Axis Bank and a company owned by him.
In 2015, the actor claimed in court that he had already paid Rs 1.58 crore. He had agreed to repay the amount in 30 days.
The judge also took contempt against two women lawyers representing the duo along with an oath commissioner for submitting a forged affidavit.
Rajpal Yadav is known for his comic roles in the Hindi film industry. He has been part of the several hit films like 'Partner', 'Hungama', and Bhoolbhulaiya.
