Private helicopter crashes near Pune
A private helicopter travelling fromMumbai to Hyderabad crashed on Saturday near Paud village in Pune district. The helicopter, owned by Global Vectra, was carrying four people.
SP (Pune Rural) Pankaj Deshmukh told news agencyANI, "Among the 4 people who were in the helicopter, the captain sustained injuries and is hospitalised. The rest of the three persons are in stable condition."
Deshmukh added, "A private helicopter crashed near Paud village in Pune district. The helicopter belongs to a private aviation company. It was going from Mumbai to Hyderabad. Among the 4 people who were in the Helicopter, the captain sustained injuries and is hospitalised. The rest of the three persons are in stable condition."
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will investigate the incident to determine the cause of the crash. A report by ANI citing sources said that thehelicopter was identified asan AgustaWestland AW139, a twin-engine aircraft designed to seat eightto 12 passengers.

Ishwarchandra Gulgule, managing director of Kaigu Aviation Private Limited, suggested weather might have been a factor. He told ANI, “It looks like a forced landing but it may be an emergency landing due to bad weather. All aircrafts including choppers are thoroughly checked by the pilots and engineers before take-off.”
This incident follows a previous helicopter crash on May 3 of this year, where a Bell 407 chopper crashed while attempting to land in Mahad, located in Maharashtra'sRaigad district.
