Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said Sunday that anybody who became a Lashkar commander would not survive for very long.
He added that that had been the case for the last eight months.
Jaitley was speaking in Surat, Gujarat where the BJP was holding a "Chai pe Charcha".
Jaitley also lashed out at Pakistan, saying there was no place for the country in the world.
Jaitley was referring to the release from house arrest on November 24 of Jamat-ud-Dawa chief and Lashkar-e-Taiba co-founder Hafiz Saeed.
Saeed is thought to be the mastermind of the 26/11 attacks on Mumbai.
"If Pakistan can release Hafiz Saeed two days before the anniversary of 26/11, then the whole world is saying in one voice that there is no place for it (Pakistan) in the family of nations," Jaitley said.
The United States has since Saeed's release called for him to be rearrested.
Amit Shah was also in Surat, where he said "People from Uttar Pradesh's Amethi come to Gujarat for jobs".
