A mother and her daughter were forced to eat human excreta in Dulami village on witchcraft suspicion on Thursday.
They are also forced to undergo head tonsure by neighbours.
A police case has been registered after both women complained to the Sonahatu police station in Ranchi.
After the complaint police have also arrested 11 people from the Dulami village.
The incident occurred when some relatives fell sick and passed out at their home; after which a man was called to identify what went wrongwho blamed the woman for their illness.
The accused also blamed the woman for practicing witchcraft.
