Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan to visit Thoothukudi where 11 people lost their lives in police firing during protests against Sterlite industries, news agency ANI reported. 

11 people were killed yesterday in police firing after Thoothukudi Sterlite protest turned violent. 

Makkal Needhi Maiam  (MNM) chief Kamal Haasan to visit Thoothukudi, where 11 people were killed yesterday in police firing during protests against Sterlite industries, the report said added that he will then travel to Bengaluru to participate in the oath-taking ceremony of HD Kumaraswamy as Karnataka chief minister. 

Earlier Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) Chief Vaiko met those injured during protests against Sterlite industries.
