J&K: 1 soldier, terrorist killed in Kulgam encounter
A soldier lost his life in the encounter between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam region.
The gunbattle had also resulted in injuries to a policeman and death of a terrorist.
A gunfight was triggered on Tuesday after militants started firing upon security forces who were conducting search operations in a suspected spot.

Based on a specific information, the Special Operations Group (SOG) Kulgam and 9 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of the Army cordoned off Nowbug Kund, Qazigund area of Kulgam.
When the security forces were conducting the search operation, militants who had been hiding in the area started fired upon them.
Another encounter started in the Lam forest area of Tral in the Awantipora district.
The operation in the two gunfight is still underway.
