Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa Jayakumar has filed nomination forChennai's RK Nagar by-election.
RK Nagar has been the constituency of J.Jayalalitha for two terms.
Thebypollin the constituency will be held on December 21.
The counting will take place on December 24.

The Election Commission had cancelled the by-elections in Chennai's RK Nagar constituency earlier this year.
Theelections were cancelled after allegationsof cash against votes had surfaced.
The Election Commission had then said that the by-elections will be conducted when the effect created by the distribution of money and gifts subsides.
It added that with the passage of the time the atmosphere in the constituency will become conducive to the holding of free and fair elections.
The need for conducting by-elections in the constituency arose after the death of J.Jayalalithaa.
