Peter involved in disappearance of my daughter Sheena, says Indrani

In a new twistin the Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukerjea, on Wednesday, claimed that her husband Peter Mukerjea is the man behind her daughter's death, according to reports.

She further stated that her husband Peter, driver Shyamvar Rai and 'other persons' were involved in 'framing her' for her daughter's murder.

Indrani Mukerjea, was earlier accused by Peter and driver Shyamvar Rai - who has turned witness, told the CBI Special Court that Indrani wanted to kill Sheena and her stepson Rahul for hampering her public image by referring to her as their mother.

She was also against Rahul's relationship with Sheena and made a detailed plan for their murder, Rai informed in court.

According to his statement, Indrani had assured him to pay for his child's education and medical aid for his family and also gave him a job. She also paid him, for helping her with the murder.

He added that she informed him that a person from Kolkata will do the needful and that he has nothing to worry, these conversations were made on Skype, Rai said.

On Wednesday, Indrani wrote a hand-written statement asking for Peters call records from January 2012 to December 2015.

“I am convinced that if we are able to obtain the CDR of Peter, we will be in a better position to ascertain if Peter and other persons were involved in the disappearance of my daughter Sheena and there will be more clarity if Peter and other persons have a role in framing me," it said.

“I have strong reasons to believe that Peter Mukerjea, with the assistance of other persons, including (accused turned approver) Shyamwar Rai may have conspired and abducted my daughter Sheena in 2012 and made her untraceable and subsequently destroyed evidence,” her statement said seeking if she had been manipulated by Rai and her husband.

“I offer my sincere gratitude to your honour for your kindness and endeavor to provide justice to my daughter, Sheena, who may have lost her life on account of greed, betrayal, jealousy, lust, and ill-will of persons whom she dearly loved and trusted,” she said in her statement to the court.

Earlier this year, Indrani had told the court of her intentions to divorce Peter, reports said.

At present, Rai is being cross-examined by the defense and has been on the stand since July.

Sheenawas murdered on April 24, 2012, allegedly by Indrani, ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Rai in conspiracy with Peter.

Sheena's body was disposed of on April 25, 2012, at a deserted spot Pen-Khopoli Road in Raigad, reports said.

Rai was arrested on August 21, 2015, by Khar police in an illegal arms case. During his interrogation, he told them about Sheena's murder after Indrani and Khanna were arrested, according to reports.

Peter, who seemed rather appalled about the information had said that he had no idea about the crime. He was later arrested in November 2015.
