India, EU pledge to 'plog' for plastic-free Delhi

Ahead of the Environment Day on June 5, an event was organised by the Embassy of Sweden, a group of ploggers of India and the European Union in New Delhi on Friday.

The participants of the event pledged for clean and plastic free Delhi by " plogging ".

They jogged around the India gate simultaneously picking up trash from around the monument.

The event was organised as part of EU's series of environmental programmes in India.

Plogging is a Swedish fitness trend that combines running with collecting garbage.

The EU delegation and the embassies of the EU member states are expected to introduce a "green-pledge" on June 5 to ensure single-use plstic products, saving energy and water resources and managing waste.
