Gujarat's budget for the financial year 2018-19 amounts to a whopping 1,83,666 crore rupees
Gujarat's Deputy CM and Finance Minister Nitin Patel presented the Budget for Gujarat's 14th assembly today.
In the presence of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and other eminent leaders, Patel noted Gujarat's fiscal deficit at a record low of 1.42 per centwhile an increase in revenue surplus from Rs 1704 cr in 2015-16 to Rs 5947 cr in 2016-17 was recorded.
Gujarat's budget for the financial year 2018-19 amounts to a whopping 1,83,666 crore rupees, up from last year's Rs 1.72 lakh crore-budget.
1.22 lakh new agriculture power connections will be provided with the help of Rs 1921 crore. Water resources and water supply will be bolstered up with the help of Rs 14895 crore allocation. 10 new schemes at the cost of Rs 2800 crore will be started in Gujarat's tribal areas for providing safe and clean drinking water.

Patel announced 30,000 new recruitments for the next fiscal. A provision of Rs 780 crore aims to provide new employment opportunities. A sum of Rs 506 crore has been allotted for the welfare of Gujarat's economically backward section.
The government aims to safeguard the Asiatic lion and has allotted Rs four crore under 'Project Lion'.
Among other announcements, Rs 1 crore was allocated for the development of four new cyber crime police stations in cities like Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot and Mehsana.
Ahmedabad will get its metro line at the expense of Rs 592 crore.
Gujarat University will get a Research Park on its campus. A provision of Rs 13 crore has been made for a new campus of Gujarat Technological University.
Close to Rs22 crores has been allocated to boost solar tourism in the state.
seaplanes services and new airports will be developed under the budgetary proposal.
The government is likely to start 51 new food centres in addition to the existing 87 centres under the Sharamik Annapurna Yojana. Rs 80 crore has been allotted for the same.
Gujarat's Chief Minister recently noted that this year's budget will chiefly focus on farmers and the welfare of the village community.
