External Affairs Minister Swaraj held 13 bilateral meetings at UN: MEA

Raveesh Kumar, official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, on Tuesday, stated that the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj held a series of bilateral meetings with her counterparts on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
"The highlight has been a series of bilateral meetings which EAM had with her counterparts. In the first two days, she had a total of 13 bilateral meetings. She also attended a high-level meeting chaired by US President Trump on 'Global call to action on world drug problem'," Kumar told media.
Swaraj met Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini, Liechtenstein Foreign Minister Aurelia Frick, Nepal's Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Spanish Foreign Minister Josep Borrell, Colombian Foreign Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo, Foreign Minister of Ecuador Jose Valencia, Foreign Minister of Australia Marise Payne and Foreign Minister of Mongolia Damdin Tsogtbaatar, PTI reported.
During the day, she also briefly met Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Gambian President Adama Barrow and Singapore's Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan.
Swaraj at the United Nations General Assembly took a strict stand on terrorism stating that "no one should be allowed to support terror or its perpetrators."

She added that "terror and hateful ideologies" are growing across and beyond borders and are impacting lives, news agency ANI reported.
"Our world is still beset with conflicts, terror & hateful ideologies that are transcending borders and impacting our lives," Swaraj noted at Nelson Mandela Peace Summit at United Nations General Assembly.
