6.1 magnitude earthquake strikes Afghanistan, tremors felt in north India
Reports said the quake was felt as far as Pakistan where one girl was killed in Balochistan province and at least 15 injured.
A powerful 6.1 magnitude earthquake hit northern Afghanistan today.
No casualties were immediately reported in Afghanistan. The epicentre was near Afghanistan's Jarm which had witnessed a devastating earthquake in 2015.
Reports said the quake was felt as far as Pakistan where one girl was killed in Balochistan province and at least 15 injured.
Tremors were reported in Islamabad, Quetta, Karachi, Lahore including in parts of northern India.
Mild tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR including the Kashmir Valley, reports said.
The quake hit northeast Kabul in the Hindu Kush mountains, at a deep 180 km, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said.
